Reflection Pacem In Terris (Peace on Earth) For many years world has been subjected to many wars that also ended many lives. People are killing each other to measure each others strength strength, to crave from power and superiority and to prove to others who is the most efficient in battlefield, but what does really war do in our lives? Isnt it just ending precious lives and destruction? After so many years of continuous battle people were able to discover unity that became the start of peace among them. What does peace really mean to us? Is it just by making friends with others, doing good acts or loving your fellow human? For world peace will not be successful is we will not start it within ourselves and within our family. In the case of the main characters (Caleb and Catherine), they cannot find the peace they need because they cannot accept the weaknesses and personality of each other that caused them to be separated. This story is really a problem because this happens not only in a movie but also in reality were married couple experience the same thing happened with the main characters. Just like what other people are always saying, all problems that we encounter has always its individual and unique way of solutions. Caleb consulted his father because he knows and thinks that he still need to rescue and rebuild his family. He started his 40 days love dare with the use of a diary that his father gave him and along with this process he encountered hardships and misfortunes that he almost wanted to surrender. As he go along with this diary bibble verses became his guiding path. Through the devine intervention and perseverance Caleb gained his desire of reconstructing his broken family.

Peace on earth is not that hard to achieve because honestly think the only way to achieve worldwide peace is for everyone on Earth to understand love. When the priorities become less about me, me, me and more about you, then the world will know peace. When the world wants whats best for our neighbors just as much as we want whats best for ourselves, then the Earth will know peace. We can achieve peace on Earth through global nuclear disarmament, proper food and energy distribution and better global communication and tolerance. Its a tall order, but if we educate the youth of the world, then the next generation could be less focused on attaining status, power and retribution (religious or racial), and be more focused on global improvement and efficiency. I think that would stamp out war, but only if we educate on a massive scale. But among these mentioned ways of achieving world piece we there is one and very basic that we need to learn, and that is achieving inner peace and start it within our family. This is what Pacem in Terris wants us to be, to do and to apply as part of our life.

Luke 2:14-Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
