CONSOLIDATED REPORT
INTRODUCTION:The field work trainee is undergone field work training to UDIS FORUM for the period of three months. The description of UDIS is "You and the Disabled" and also "Understand Disability". UDIS FORUM is working for the

person with disability. It is not functioning as NGO. It is an network. Mainly UDIS FORUM is working to provide employment opportunities to the person with disability.

HISTORY OF THE AGENCY:UDIS FORUM was established on January 2007. The forum was headed by Dr.M.N.G. MANI. It is an network of parents, parents with disability, professionals and voluntary organization for facilitating employment and empowermwent of person with disability.

VISION: The vision of the Forum is that innate potential of persons with disabilities should be manifested through skills and their personality development.

MISION: The mission of the forum was employment creation for person with disability.

Philosophy: Providing service without creating institution.

ORGANISATIONAL CHART

ACTIVITY OF THE AGENCY:The UDIS Forum is a network of parents, persons with disabilities, professionals and voluntary organizations for facilitating employment and empowerment of persons with disabilities. The Forum believes that YOU as an individual, group of people, industries, corporate houses, etc., can light the lives of

people with disabilities by using their skills. The Forum also invites the youth of the country to learn about disability management to create positive awareness about persons with disability in the society. The Forum will provide systematic training to young students of schools and colleges in the country and make them "UDIS Volunteers."

CURRENT PROGRAMMES OF UDIS FORUM

Employment guidance programme (EGP) Marga-Schulze Scholarship Scheme (MASS) Youth Wing for Disability Services (YWDIS)

Employment guidance programme (EGP)

UDIS FORUM has a full time representatives to work for the EGP. The first task of the EGP is to prepare profile for the person with disability who are in need of employment. The profiles will be gathered from two kinds of persons with disabilities - those who have registered with the employment exchange and those who have not registered at all due to lack of educational qualifications, lack of awareness, etc. The data will be shared with employment exchange and Industrial houses, which are showing interest in providing employment opportunities to persons with disabilities to plan placement services. The representatives will visit the industries to identify job person with disability.

Marga-Schulze Scholarship Scheme (MASS)

The Marga Schulze Scholarship scheme is aimed at helping blind girls in Africa and Asia to pursue higher education. This scheme supported by Dr. Hans-Eugen Schulze, a retired German Judge, who himself a person with visual impairment, is a significant movement towards empowering girls with visual impairment. In South India, the scheme is operated and monitored by the UDIS Forum, located in Coimbatore.

Youth wings for disability services (YWDIS)

 The Youth Wing for Disability Services (YWDIS) consists of student volunteers of social work departments from various colleges in and around Coimbatore and other parts of the State too to work in the field of disability. The UDIS Forum serves as the Facilitating Agency for the YWDIS. The Heads of Departments of Social Work of Colleges are invited to be part of the Advisory Committee of the YWDIS. The UDIS Forum will organize required training to the members of the YWDIS on disability management. The executive committee will plan activities for one academic year, which may include organizing student seminars, essay writing contests, oratorical contests, work with the community, youth rallies, industrial visits to identify jobs for persons with disabilities, school awareness programmes, etc. The UDIS Forum will organize required training to the members of the YWDIS on disability management. The UDIS Forum will facilitate the YWDIS get required resources for organizing these activities whereas the nodal agency will communicate with other colleges of social work in the state and enlist student and staff support for carrying out the activities, either in Coimbatore or in other parts of the State/region.

ACTIVITY CARRIED OUT BY THE TRAINEE:-

The trainee was engaged in the official work. The field work trainee consolidated the vouchers & accounts bill and made a final report

The field work trainee visited the sarathy pammic. It is an industry which is making artificial flowers. The industry is providing employment opportunity for mental retardation person. The trainee took seminar regarding learning disability to the other trainees of the UDIS FORUM.

 The field work trainee went to the colleges to take survey about what type of the disabled persons are studying in the colleges and what are all the difficulty they are facing in the college. The field work trainee gathered a knowledge about sign language. The trainee interacted with the deft and dumb girl who is working in the UDIS FORUM.

The trainee consolidated the mass report and entered the data in excel sheet for future reference. The agency was shifted from kanuvai to cheran nagar. So the trainee helped the staffs in the shifting process.

The trainee interacted with the blind person who registered under the EGP scheme. He conveyed his personalexperience and the difficulty faced by the blind persons in the society. The trainee collected the university details which are offering MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK degree. The trainee went to vagarayam palayam government school to create an awareness programme regarding disability management. The trainee went to P.U. MID SCHOOL which is located in sugunapuram to ask permission to create an awareness programme regarding the disability management. The field work trainee organized a COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION PROGRAMME in P.U.MID SCHOOL, sugunapuram.

CONCLUSION:Through this training the trainee got good and nice experience and it will be helpful in the trainees career in future. This training makes the trainee to improve in skills and moulds her knowledge. As a social worker the trainee had a chance to work for the society.
