Job Posting: Campaign Manager, Statewide Ballot Initiative Campaign in Illinois We are a nonpartisan coalition of organizations with an ambitious

vision: an Illinois that is a model for fair, honest statewide democracy. We are looking for a qualified Campaign Manager to run a statewide, citizen-driven Illinois Constitutional amendment ballot campaign from May 2013 until November 2014, focused on an issue fundamental to voting rights and representation. If we succeed, we will be the first group to amend the Illinois Constitution through a citizens initiative in more than 30 years. If you are looking for a career-making challenge, this is it. The Campaign Manager will report to the President of the 501(c)(4) organization coordinating the campaign. Applications Due: April 19, 2013 Tentative Start: May 15, 2013

Duties: 1) Manage and coordinate day-to-day operations of statewide ballot campaign, including: fundraising, communication/media/digital/mail, grassroots/field, coalition outreach and management, quantitative and qualitative research, analytics, relationships with political and civic leaders, and internal campaign administration. 2) Draft and implement a campaign plan, working closely with President.

3) Lead development and execution of campaign fundraising plan in partnership with President and Board. 4) Identify and hire consultants to the campaign (working with President), and manage all contracts with outside vendors/consultants. 5) Serve as a point of contact for local, regional, statewide and national media outlets seeking information regarding the campaign. 6) Attend all Board and coalition meetings as needed, and provide regular, comprehensive updates on campaign activities. 7) Respond to inquiries from coalition partners, Board members, and elected officials regarding the campaign.

Qualifications: 1) At least 2 cycles of campaign experience. Previous experience as a Campaign Manager or Deputy Campaign Manager of a statewide ballot campaign or competitive Congressional race is strongly preferred but not required. We will consider serious candidates with Field, Finance, Advocacy, or relevant electoral experience. 2) Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and ability to facilitate meetings with diverse participation. 3) Field experience, including with voter identification, micro-targeting, data usage and management. 4) 5) 6) A self-starter with strong organizational skills, leadership ability, and a sense of humor Working knowledge of the unique politics of the State of Illinois A strong belief in building and running adaptive, data-driven campaigns
