Machinery mechanics and team electrician see well functioning of gears on site. Land Surveyor does the measurement and setting out on site for surfaces that will be injected concrete

6. EXECUTION
6.1. Preliminary Conditions: Assurance at the work area, of the execution details and present procedure. The work spot personal are trained to know the execution projects, task book, and standard machinery using way specific for this type of works and of present technical execution procedure stipulation. Assurance on site the materials, machinery tools and necessary instruments for works execution. Existence of forms for quality records requested by Technical Specifications and Constructions State Inspection. Existence of quality records for every phase, Signed Statements for hidden works, quality reception and determinant phase. 6.2. Work area delimitation and signaling: Working area will be assured with road signals according to Traffic Management, approved preliminarily by local authorities, police department, Beneficiary and the Engineer. 6.3. Execution: 6.3.1. Preparation of surface that will be injected with concrete : Before starting works, for each sector from Design, it is established a board of representatives from Designer, Engineer and Contractor, surface to be gunited with concrete (for new works), and areas requiring repairs (for existing works). Then, for the respective distance, near traffic side is closed, limiting the area with concrete elements type New Jersey (and if necessary with wire net boards with h= 2,00 m) so that pieces of rock will not end on the other traffic. Also, concrete elements are used for protection of workers and gears in that area. After that, follows surface clearing : with excavator having added a tooth ( ripper) on bottom, and manually by trained personnel on top. These men will be hanged by ropes. After establishing height of area to be gunited with concrete, first range of anchors will be executed on top ( way of execution to be described below). These anchors will be used for hanging ropes on all execution works time. Also workers on high altitude will use obligatory protection equipment ( safety belts, protection helmets etc.). After clearing, manual cleaning of surface with wrecking-bars until reaching unspoiled rock. Thickness of material to be removed (after clearing and manual cleaning) will be settled by

land surveyor, who will do a setting out of surface before and after clearing and cleaning. Operation will take place from top to bottom (where can be used excavator with tooth). Where necessary (for example pieces of rocks altered or disengaged partial or not falling, when using wrecking-bar) will be removed using handpicks actioned by motor-compressors. Then blowing surfaces follows with underpressure air, more on areas with cracks and fissures, removing this way last additions. Motor-compressors pipe has a length enough to reach highest point of slope. For the last 2 cleaning operations, workers will be hanged also. Gunite works on slopes will be checked visual and by knocking. Areas visible degraded (with cracks, fissures, breaks, with unstuck gunite) and areas having empty sound when knocking, will be remade. Areas will be applied wrecking-bars until all improper material will be removed, then blowing air underpressure, then guniting. 6.3.2. Execution of anchors First row anchors will be executed first, before preparatory works, because these will be used for hanging ropes by climbers. A gear with lifting branch having mounted a basket, where stays worker who executes first row of anchors. For the others, according to difficulty of position, same gear will be used, or workers hanged in ropes will execute the other anchors. Holes will be executed with a Bosch rock drill, with drill of 28 mm diameter. Holes are executed according to Design Drawings, but seeing shape of rock surface. Drill deep is se to 1,50 m if soft rock, cracked or fissured. If drilling hard rock, or if reaching hard rock, drilling deep can be lowered with acceptance from the Engineer. Holes have an angle according to Desing Drawings. After execution of holes, steel bars type PC52, with diameter of 25 mm, are inserted by knocking with a sledge-hammer. These will have soldered at the top end steel bars OB37 through which will be introduced longitudinal bars for stiffness, as seen below:

6.3.3. Setting wire net. First stiffness bars of OB37 steel concrete are installed inserting through heads of first row anchors and then are fixed with wire by those. Then starts assembling wire nets from one edge of surface. Lifting first roll of interlaced zinc wire on level of first row of anchors; release small part then tie with wire by stiffness bar and heads of anchors. Then release the whole roll to loose until reaching bottom of surface; extra material is cut or if necessary, another net is added, passing 10 cm of previous net, until reaching bottom of slope. Then second roll is placed, passing 10 cm over edged of first roll, tieing from spot to spot with wire. Operation will continue until hole surface to be injected with concrete is covered by wire

net. Nets will be tied with wire by anchors heads too. Then stiffness bars will be fixed on hole surface, over the nets, through anchors, tieing with wire by those.

6.3.4 Preparations for guniting Dry method is used for guniting (prefered by Technical Specifications). For preparation of dry gunite mortar it will be used 0-4 mm aggregates (as seen in table below, cement class 32,5 dosage is 575kg/mc according to Technical Specifications). Mark Sieve 0.2 dimensions Top limit 18 Bottom limit 8 % of what passes diameter through sieve 1 3 5 60 45 85 70 100 100

Aggregates used for preparation of mortar have a humidity of max 6-8%. Batching compound with XXX concrete plant, and mixed and transported to work area by agitating trucks. Material is unloaded nearby gunite pump and covered by a polyethylene sheet until loading to pump. Also, a water basin of sufficient capacity must be present on site, for pump working; starting every work day, it must be filled up. A tank truck will assure filling it. A pump type Putzmeister Mixokret M500E will be used, and it will be checked before starting works. Pumps characteristics : - loading max. capacity = 500 litres (0,5mc), usual = 300 350 litres ; - productivity = 6 7 mc/h ; - pressure = 7 bar ; - distance from pump, to gunite = 160 270 m length, = 80 -160m height ; these distances depend on productivity and compressor capacity and quality of gunite mortar; 6.3.5. Guniting. After preparing a surface a sufficient quantity of material necessary for one day work, guniting can begin. Wet gunite is loaded manually into pump, until reaching a quantity of 0,3 0,35 mc, then water is added, aprox. 40l/load (adjusted by a valve). In special cases (when working on temperatures below 0C, or water inserts on slope), and additive hardening accelerator, 5 l /mc. Time between preparation of mix and introducing into guniting device and application on slope must not pass 1h. Mix storage must be protected by atmosphere agents that might spoil of modify mix compound.

METHOD STATEMENT GUNITING ON SLOPES

Guniting will start from top to bottom. Starting or continuing guniting process will be made by adjusting mix consistency by handling water valve, bean orientation other than surface to be gunited. When reaching right consistency of gunite, bean of machine is directed to guniting surface. Usually, machines bean must be perpendicular to support surface. In our case, bean must be held under an angle of aprox.15o to perpendicular to surface, for introducing material behind wire net. Distance between bean and support surface is 50 cm to 200 cm, according to pressure inside guniting device, on bean orifice. Worker approaches or moves far from support surface until obtaining adequate quality of gunite. Appliance of gunite layers will be made by round movement of bean to a perpendicular axe on support surface. Worker must take care that material is homogeneous and spread uniform. When material is not homogeneous, worker must remove bean from guniting surface, gunite jet is adjusted consistency according to requirements and only after that, it will be used again on guniting surface. No matter what purpose, measures must be taken to avoid dirt on surfaces not yet gunited. Guniting is executed least in 2layers. First layer is primer, to obtain a better adherence and reduce losing. Mortar layers thickness is between 1-3 cm, depending on worker skills and local technological conditions (reinforcement nets, number and diameter of bars). If necessary thickness is not obtained by second layer, multiple layers of lower thickness are applied, so that gunite will not detach from support surface. Next layer is applied before ending cement setting from previous layer. If passed this time, before applying new layer, surface is cleaned by wire brushes, then blowing with compressed air. When stopping work, treating fresh gunite surface with trowel is forbidden; continuing work after hardening gunite will be done after removing rebound material and cleaning support surface and blowing with compressed air. Rebound material is removed; it is not allowed using it for preparation of a new dry mix for guniting. Heads of anchores will be protected by execution of a gunite belt made in layers. After finishing work, guniting machine will empty and clean; also rubber pipe and bean will be washed with water and blowed by compressed air.

METHOD STATEMENT GUNITING ON SLOPES

Special attention when cleaning bean, stave in all orifices, without distortion of shapes. 6.3.6. Quality check of gunited mortars and adherence to support surface is made by knocking surface. Areas that sound empty will be removed and fix by gutining again. Fixing is made according to current procedure specifications.

LABOUR SAFETY

LEGISLATION : - The Law no.90/1996 The Law of the protection of the work; - Norms methodological by the applications of the law of the protection of the works; - General norms by the protection of the works; - Specifies norms by safety of the works for works by the exploitation and the care of the roads and bridges. The workers involved in the activity describe is obligate to acquire the legislation and to wear the equipment by protection. The foreman has obligation to check the physical state of the workers and operators by machines from the point by work, at beginning of the work and on the during day by work. At beginning of the day-work make the daily instruction by protection. The chief by motorcade is obligate to check the physical state of the drivers and to make the daily instruction by protection of the work at beginning of the day-work. The responsible with the safety make the periodic instruction (monthly) of the all staff. Respect of the Plan of the Traffic Management, whereby mention : - the staff which in zone of the carriage-way is obligated to keep reverberating vests; - the signalizing of the work point shall be made as per schedule by signalizing approved by N.A.R. and I.G.P. Bucuresti; - on all sectors of road with reduced visibility is obligatory putting the pilots for street-traffic control with reverberating vests, shunting signals and if is case emission receive stations;

METHOD STATEMENT GUNITING ON SLOPES

- is interdicted the staying of the staff on the carriage-way without the work areas; the circulation of the workers on public roads making on the left side, on shoulder, and when this miss, nearly by the edge of carriage-way.

Worker handling the bean must take very good care not to point jet towards some people nearby when starting guniting and stave in rubber pipes must hold with strong the bean, so that hydraulic hits not to force him drop it.. Also whole personel working on heights must wear protection helmets, boots and safety belts and will check ties to ropes to be hanged . While working on clearing surfaces to be gunited, it is forbidden foreign personel to be in the area, because of the risk to be hit by trees or pieces of rock.. Also, when seeing during these operations there might be a chanche that trees with high diameter or big rock pieces to detach, it is recommended closing traffic on the other side of the road too until clearance danger or trees or pieces of rock from road..
