Enclosed is an application form for the Burlington County Central Labor Councils H.B. Scoop Slack Memorial Scholarship.

This year, we will be awarding four scholarships for $1,000.00. Any high school senior, who will be attending a college or university, or continuing their education in an approved trade or technical school, is eligible, provided that the student is a child of current or deceased member of a union affiliated with the Burlington County Central Labor Council. This cost of living increase would be determined by the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) for that period of time and this percentage would have been added to the established minimum wage going forward. What would have been the advantages or disadvantages of raising the minimum wage? What effect do you think it will have on New Jerseys economy and the half million workers presently on minimum wage?
