We are happy to inform you that, you have been selected for admission to the ME Programme in WATER RESOURCE AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING in the Department of CIVIL ENGINEERING. Your selection is provisional and is based on your GATE score of Civil Engineering 688 (as provided by you), and it is under the GN category. The selection is subject to verification, at the time of admission, of your GATE score card, academic records and other eligibility criteria, as laid down in the online Admissions Information Brochure 2013. If you accept the offer of admission, you may remit the Admissions fee of Rs.13300 by logging in to admissions website http://admissions.iisc.ernet.in/pg and click on "Pay your Admission Fees" link on or before 15th April 2013. You can pay the admission fee through any of the following modes using the appropriate links provided therein: (1) Challan generated by the system in SBI or Canara Bank of your choice (2) Using gateway through Credit/Debit Card (3) Net banking (Account to Account transfer) In case you opt for challan payment, the challan will contain 3 parts, Bank copy, Student copy and the Institutes copy. After you make the payment in the Bank, you must enter the Journal number again in the "Update Payment Reference No/Journal No" link online and upload the Institute's copy of the challan in the same link. In case, you do not accept the offer of Admission, you should intimate the Institute by updating through online by logging to the Admissions website http://admissions.iisc.ernet.in/pg and then click on "Withdraw/cancel my Offer Letter" link.

You are offered this admission based on the lower preference indicated by you in the application. Since this offer is to a lower preference programme, you may opt for either of the following choices (provided you accept this admission offer and comply with all the above requirement): 1. You may retain the admission to the above indicated programme, in which case, you will not be considered for admission to a higher preference programme, should a vacancy arise. 2. You may opt for being considered for admission to your higher preference, should a vacancy arise. In such an event, your admission to this lower preference will be automatically cancelled (that is, after you get admission to a higher preference programme), and the seat will be offered to another candidate. We would appreciate, if you could indicate your choice by updating through online. You may also note that the item (2) above is a default option unless we receive a communication contrary to the above from you through online. Please also note that an option made once (even by default) is final. After accepting the offer of admission and paying the fees, if you are not in a position to join the Institute you should intimate the same by updating through online, immediately but in no case later than 19th April 2013 . This will help us to operate the waiting list and fill up the vacancies, and also prevent large number of vacancies remaining unfilled. In the event of withdrawal/cancellation of admission on or before 19th April 2013 you will be refunded amount paid towards the admission fee, after deducting Rs. 1,000.00 as cancellation fee. In case of withdrawal/cancellation of the admission offer after 19th April 2013 , the entire fee (except refundable deposits) will be forfeited. Further, it may be noted that: 1. You must report at the Faculty Hall of the Institute on 29th July 2013 at 9.00 a.m along with the original GATE SCORE CARD and the documents /certificates as detailed under item-I of the Annexure-A. 2. Since the ME / M Tech Programmes are highly structured, the classes will start in full swing from 1st of August 2013.

3. You should have completed all the requirements for the award of your qualifying degree (including all examinations, dissertation project and viva-voce) before you join the Institute. If you have completed all the formalities for the award of degree, but awaiting the results of your final examination, you should produce the course completion certificate, as issued by the Principal / head of the institution, at the time of admission. In such a situation you will be given only provisional admission, subject to condition that you will be producing all the Marks sheets and Degree / Provisional Degree Certificate by 31st October 2013, failing which the provisional admission will be cancelled. 4. You will receive a scholarship of Rs.8000/- p.m. 5. Hostel accommodation for men and women students are available on the Institute Campus, for the duration of the course. If you wish to avail this facility, you may read the instructions given in the http://hostel.iisc.ernet.in/ website. In case you choose to avail hostel facility, you may click "Yes" against hostel option available in the "Pay your Admission Fees" link. In such an event you are required to pay Rs.6500/- towards deposit along with the admissions fees already indicated. 6.
