For this question respondents have attempted to answer the best among them in terms of knowledge and career. Out of 550 respondents only 450 were interested in making their career in field of IT and remaining respondents were interested in making their career in some other field. Out of these 450 respondents 17% respondents prefer hardware field, 20% prefer networking field and 63% prefer software field.

After analysis I came to know that 73% of the respondents are aware of the latest industrial demand of IT courses while a segment of 27% are not aware of it.

85% Respondent preferred Short-term courses of 3 month and 6 months & 15% preferred the long-term courses.

PREFERENCE FOR SOFTWARE COURSE

This question was asked to find out the software courses that are preferred by the students. Out of 290 students who preferred the software field of IT, 24% Students preferred SAP, 26% Software Testing, 21% preferred JAVA, 24% Preferred Dot net, while 3% preferred Oracle. This shows that SAP, Software Testing, Java and Dot net are the demand of the students.

Awareness of HCL-CDC

From this question I want to analyze that how many Students are aware of HCL-CDC. After analysis I came to know that only 22% are aware of HCL-CDC while remaining 78% are not aware of HCL-CDC. The awareness of HCL-CDC is still low even after a year of its launch.

From this question I want to find out the different modes through which students came to know about HCL-CDC. This would help in finding out the effective mode of awareness. After analysis, I found that out of 120 students who were aware of HCL-CDC, 38% came to know about it through Referrals, 29% word of mouth while only 21% students came to know about it through posters, 8% through leaflet and 4% through newspapers.

This question was asked to know the respondent attitude for the training provided by industrial people and others. 87% of the respondent believes that the training provided by industrial people is beneficial over others.

From this question I want to find out the factors that affect the decision-making. After analysis, I found that respondents are much affected by goodwill (46%) and quality (18%). While advertisement (15%) and Price (16%) also affects the decision making to a certain extent.

Parameters Before joining an Institute

Before joining any institute most of the students see the brand name (46%) and course content (36%) first, other parameters like fee structure, infrastructure also plays important role. But brand name and course content are the most important parameters that students see before joining an institute. So organization should keep in mind all 4 parameters

In spite of being a brand, good infrastructure, trainers from industry, most of the students prefer to join NIIT because of its long existence in IT training and education market. Only 31% students prefer HCL-CDC.while 45% prefer NIIT, 7% prefer JETKING, 15% prefer APTECH, 2% students prefer any other institute.

Conversion Rate of Aspirant into HCL-CDC Students

From the above graph I analyse that out of total students who visit the center only 45% take admission in the HCL-CDC. Remaining students do not take admission due to following reasons. 1) 25% Students feel that fees structure is too high 2) 10% Students generally have the Problem of class Timing. 3) 20% Students generally demand for the SAP/ S/w Testing courses but HCL-CDC is not providing these courses.

FINDINGS

Brand Awareness of HCL is Excellent, i.e. everyone knows HCL as a brand. But very few people are aware of HCL-Career Development Centre. Awareness of the organization is still low even after a year of its launch.

Most of the students are aware of the career opportunities in the field of IT and wish to make their career in it. They are also aware of the latest industrial demand of IT courses. But still there are few students who are not aware of the latest industrial demand of IT courses.

As a feature wise HCL-CDC is good in comparison to NIIT, Aptech and other institutes. It has good infrastructure, trainers from industry, and hands on experience in live projects. But most of the Students prefer to join NIIT because of its long existence in IT training and Education market.

In the study I have seen that most of the Students influence by the goodwill & quality factor. But advertisement and price factor also affect the decision-making.

Most of the students prefer to make their career in Software field in comparison to hardware and networking. Software courses are more in demand. There is also a big demand for SAP and the Software testing courses.

Short-term courses are more preferred by the students than long-term courses. Before joining any institute people give preference to both Brand Name and Course Content. Therefore it is necessary for any institute to provide the latest course content to survive in a market and to maintain its Brand Name.

Most of the Students come to know about HCL-CDC through referrals and word of mouth, and very few come to know about it through newspaper or other advertising medium .

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY


I tried to do the work in the best possible way, but yet I faced certain difficulties. But proper care was taken to present the report in the best possible way, but still the difficulties, which was faced, are as follows: ---

There were some ineligible respondent. Multiple responses to some question didnt give the real preference of the respondent. Area of survey was conducted in Delhi, NCR only. Some of the respondent didnt give any of their opinion for various questions. Time and other factors, which are beyond human limitations, have also a bearing on the study. Some of the respondent does not take interest in filling questionnaire. Some of the respondents gave irrelevant answers due to lack of interest. Lack of cooperation on the part of authority of different colleges in NCR region. Sometime respondent in a hurry, so respondent may not revealed the truth, which affect the research also.

Market Competition Location

Market competition is a biggest threat for the organization. It is new in the field of IT education so it has to face competition with NIIT, which has a long existence in the market.

CONCLUSION

After conducting the awareness survey and analyzing the questionnaire, I have arrived at the conclusion that IT courses are in demand as demand of the software professionals is very high. The students are aware of the career opportunities in IT and most of them are interested in making their career in field of IT. The survey reveals that most of the students preferred software as compared to hardware and networking. Survey also revealed that most of the students are not aware of HCL-CDC, as it is a new entrant in the IT training and education market. Besides being a brand very few people know about this new initiative of HCL. So, the organization should put some more efforts to increase the awareness of HCL-CDC. Most of the people come to know about HCL-CDC through referrals and word of mouth. It means that the awareness of organization through posters and newspaper is less. Survey also reveals that most of the students prefer to join NIIT because of its long existence in the market. So I strongly feel that organization should take necessary steps to increase the awareness of HCL-CDC.

SUGGESTIONS
Although, HCL Career Development Centre is very smoothly progressing in the field of IT Education & Training but there are certain areas, which requires the attention. Since CDC came into existence just one year before therefore, the Organization should go for Mass Advertisements, because the awareness of it in market is very low. Company should advertise through various things i.e. advertisement through print medial, electronic media. As we have seen in the study that Students are much affected by goodwill & quality factor. Therefore the Organization should concentrate over these factor. Most of the people and students prefer the software field of IT. But the organization is giving more emphasize to its hardware courses. So organization should also give emphasize on the software courses. High fee charge is a common problem that a Student face before joining the Organization. Fee charges of the courses should be kept low so as to attract more students towards the organization.

Organization should go for the diversified courses as per the demand of the students like SAP, Software testing. These courses are more in demand. Most of the people come to know about HCL-CDC through referrals and word of mouth. It means that the awareness of organization through posters and newspaper is less. So organization should go for more advertisements through newspaper and posters.
