Grace Lee (00:00-00:41)-Five years have already passed since my father and mother lost their lives in a car

accident. My younger brother, Henry, and I were in the back seat during the accident but we made it out alive. Henry was 5 years old and I was 8 when we last saw them. (00:42-01:12)-Tomorrow marks the anniversary of their death. All the memories of us fooling around and laughing at everything constantly plays back in my head. It plays back every day of the year except for when we reached near the anniversary of their death. When we are close to that day, everything appears to be dark and depressing. (01:13-01:54)-The accident isnt very clear to me; all I remember is that mom and dad were unconscious but Henry awake screaming and crying beside me. Everyone was covered in blood because the car flipped over but I dont know how. (01:55-02:31) The paramedics and police arrived at the scene and got us out of the car one by one. Mom and dad were still unconscious but breathing therefore all of us went to the hospital to get treated. On the way there, I kept on asking the paramedics if mom and dad were awake but they wouldnt answer. They told me to stay still and that everything would be all right. Everything after that was blurry. I woke up from the surgery, seeing grandma and grandpa crying next to me in the hospital bed. They told me mom and dad didnt make it and that they are in a better place now. Even though my parents were not alive, I was glad that Henry made it through the surgery. (02:32- 3:03) I asked myself many times why they were the ones to die from the accident and not me. Every time I think of it, it kills me because I didnt get a chance to say goodbye. Henry needs them to be here instead of me. I am not much of help. Mom and dad should be here instead of me to guide him through hard times in life. (03:04-04:12) After that, Henry and I have moved into our grandparents home and lived there ever since mom and dad passed away. Grandma and grandpa are always there for us especially at night when we have nightmares from the car accident. Henry and I became a lot closer after their death because we only had each other to hang on to. When grandma and grandpa pass away who will take care of us? I dont want to be separated from Henry if we end up going to an orphanage. None of our relatives can take care of us because they all live far away from where we are. I cant imagine what life would be like without Henry because he is the only reason I live. He struggles a lot from what happened because it occurred at a young age. (04:13-04:26) The day has arrived. Its bright and warm outside unlike yesterday when it was gloomy and rainy for most of the day. (04:27- 04:49) Henry and I are getting ready to visit mom and dad at their graves today just to say hi like we do every year. This year seems a bit different and I dont know why. We bought mom roses because they are her favourite flowers and for dad, we are bringing a picture of us to show him how much we have grown to look like him. (04:50-05:07) Henry is excited to visit mom and dad since we only come here once every two months because it is far. I enjoy the long ride because there are always beautiful things to see on the way there.

(05:08-05:49)I wish mom and dad were in the car with us to see this magnificent view of nature. As we were driving, two butterflies were flying next to the window beside me. One was peach and the other one was purple. It was odd because moms favourite colour was peach and dads was purple. It disappeared for the rest of the car ride but when we arrived at the grave, it appeared again. The peach butterfly landed on moms grave and the purple one landed on dads. It was as if mom and dad were following us the whole time. (05:50-06:21) Henry went up to talk to them first. He started to cry out saying, Come back! I need you guys and I miss you. It was really hard to watch him talk to them. He never really expresses his emotions that way. I heard Henry cry a couple of times at night, probably because he has nightmares about the accident. (06:22-6:35) Next was my turn. I usually go up and start to cry. Its really hard to talk to them because I cant physically see them. This year was slightly different though. Since the butterflies were there, it felt as if my parents were trying to communicate with me. (6:36- 06:53) It was nice to see the butterflies follow us around because it reminded me of mom and dad. (06:54- 07:04) On our way home, the car ride felt extremely long. It felt that way because leaving the funeral home is difficult since Im saying goodbye my parents until the next time I visit them. (07:05-07:38) I fell asleep for the rest of the car ride but when we arrived home, I got out of the car and felt something on my shoulder. It was the peach butterfly! I looked over to Henry and the purple butterfly was on his shoulder. The butterflies kept on flying around us and wouldnt go away. (07:39-07:45) It felt like the butterfly on my shoulder was trying to communicate with me because I kept on hearing moms voice. It was saying, Hi sweetie, how are you feeling. (07:46- 07:59) I tried to say something back but no words were able to come out. I felt a sudden touch on my face but it wasnt from the butterfly because it was still on my shoulder. (08:00- 10:52) The touch came more realistic. Was it the presence of my mom? As the touch became more realistic, the voice of my mom became louder. I closed my eyes and re opened it. When I opened my eyes I was in a hospital room. My whole family was surrounding me. Mom, dad and Henry were all there staring at me and crying. I was really confused from what was happening so suddenly. It turned out that I was in coma since the car accident occurred. Luckily, my whole family was still alive and healthy. The dark nightmares of the accident had finally disappeared and only bright memories appeared in my mind.
