Objective Education

Seeking a full-time position as a generalist business analyst Masters, Petroleum Engineering, August 2009 The University of Texas at Austin Overall GPA: 3.66/4.00 Bachelor of Science, Petroleum Engineering, June 2003 University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan Related Courses Advanced Reservoir Engineering, Advanced Petrophysics, Advanced Production Engineering, Enhanced Oil Recovery, Reservoir Geomechanics, Deepwater Operations, Phase Behavior of reservoir fluids, Natural Gas Engineering Thesis The effect of steam assisted gravity drainage on the stresses in unconsolidated heavy oil reservoirs.

Experience
05/2008 - 08/2008 Intern, Schlumberger, Abingdon Technology Center, Abingdon, UK Worked on reservoir simulation in Abingdon Technology Center. Conducted asphaltene drop out study from heavy oils during simple pressure depletions and CO2 injection. Spearheaded a study on asphaltene formation damage for a Canadian operator. Performed a senstivity analysis on the asphaltene related parameters in the compositional simulator. Proposed the possible mechanisms affecting asphaltene drop out during pressure depletion. Developed a model that helped verify the 'near well bore damage' phenomenon due to asphaltene drop out. Analyzed productivity loss due to the formation damage caused by asphaltene drop out. Used PVTi, Eclipse, E300 (compositional) and PETREL for the modeling effort. Findings lead to the development of a base case model that was later modified for a full field scale study, and helped the company conduct successful studies on real field problems. Intern, Orient Petroleum Inc International, Islamabad, Pakistan Worked with the well head completion team for optimizing well head completion designs Proposed an optimization plan for increasing the production from one of the gas wells Coordinated with teams on the field to optimize a fracturing job on a well Intern, Oil and Gas Development Company, Islamabad, Pakistan Evaluated Corrosion controls reports and proposed possible corrosion control measures at various well sites and processing plants. Reviewed reservoir simulation reports and prepared presentations for the manager. Reasearch Project, Heavy Oils Worked on Steam Assisted Gravity Draingae (SAGD) and the changes caused by SAGD in the stressses in the reservoir. Research Project, Microbial EOR Worked on increasing the sweep efficiency in reservoirs using microbial EOR. Conducted experiments and simulations. Proposed explanations for preferential growth of microbes in high permeability areas. Published a paper on the research done.

02/2006 - 04/2006

06/2005 - 08/2005
