Tagalag, Henry R BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY Wesleyan University Philippines College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences is aiming for a higher standard of learning that shall focus on well- motivated students capable with competing with those of highly industrialized countries. Students were facilitating different techniques and habits of studying to have better memory retention of the lesson they were taking up in different kinds of subject. This method they were utilizing helps them to pass the examinations, quizzes and other school activities with high grades. Each student has his or her own technique of studying; one technique may not work for one person but works with the other. Furthermore, students keep up the habits which, they proved effective for them, and keep utilizing it in the entire lesson they are taking up. In this regard, motivation as diving force is very crucial it can determine whether a student can handle with the problem of society and be able to withstand stiff competition to international standard. It can make us understand the habits of students and be able to reflect this to the present trend of society culture and technology. The researcher can therefore nourish these positive studying habits and transferred this quality for the betterment of the students. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY The result of this study concerning the studying habits of students will be beneficial to: To the Nursing Students the results coming from this study will give them insights what various favorable student habits could be practiced or adapted to better enhance their performance in school.

To the College Administrator this study may serve as an eye-opener on what they can do to help nursing students to enhance their good study habits. To the Nursing Educator the result may serve as a guide to able for them to have effective teaching strategies that will prefer on students study habits. To the Future Researchers this study will be significant to future researchers, this study will be great help for students as a reference material if they would undergo the same or related study. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM This study was conducted to determine the different study habits of BSN III Block 1 specifically this sought to answer the following questions: 1. What are the different habits being practiced by students? 2. From among these study habits, what is the most commonly practiced? 3. What are your common techniques in studying your lessons? 4. What are your preferred time, place and mood before studying? 5. What beliefs do you have when studying? 6. What are your usual hobbies while studying?
