This document was initiated on 11th Oct 1983 by Virendra Nath Sreen on the basis of information brought by his son Shiv Kumar Sreen from Haridwar. Shiv Kumar Sreen had attended the kriya ceremony of Late Shambhu Dass Bhalla, husband of Sushila Devi (elder sister of Virendra Nath Sreen), on 29th July, 1983. Shiv Kumar obtained the family tree from the concerned Panda at Haridwar. About Goindwal Sahib: A village situated on the right bank of River Beas in Amritsar District, about 20Kms from Amritsar and 35 Kms from Sultanpur Lodhi. It is said to be named after Gonda Bhagat, who lived under a Marwah tree and whose descendants are, ever since, known as Marwahs amongst the Kshatriyas of Punjab. Gonda Bhagat was a contemporary of Guru Amar Dass, whom it is said, he brought from Khadoor Sahib to Goindwal. Nothing is known about the ancestors of Gonda Bhagat, nor his heirs until Shri Chuhar Mal in the 18th centure A.D.
