RESOLUTION 0006 - 1314

A Resolution Requesting all the Faculty of Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan to Ensure the Quality and the Maximum Use of Prescribed Textbooks WHEREAS, stipulated in Article III, Section 11 of the Magna Carta of Students Rights and Responsibilities, the students shall have the right to quality and appropriate textbooks with updated content and teachers should ensure maximum use of prescribed textbooks. WHEREAS, some teachers prescribe textbooks whose contents are not updated and do not cover the entire topics for the semester as stated in the course syllabus. WHEREAS, these prescribed textbooks are not used for the entire semester or only a few of its sections are used. WHEREAS, students have been spending money on the said prescribed textbooks but are not maximized. WHEREAS, at least seventy-five percent (75%) of the topics written in the course syllabus should be in the prescribed textbooks to be used by the students. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, this resolution takes effect upon the approval of 2/3 of the Directorate members sitting en banc, and thus requests that all the Faculty of Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan must review the textbooks before prescribing it to students to ensure their quality. FURTHER, this resolution requests that the faculty of Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan ensure that the prescribed textbooks will be of maximum use throughout the semester.
