Working alone, compose a song or an instrumental three minutes duration reflective of a defined musical style suggested by the tutor using at least three of the following: a) rhythm track; b) bass line; c) harmonic progression; d) melody; e) lyrics

Grading Criteria
Composing Music Pass P1. Show some good, basic compositional skills, which demonstrate some awareness of the requirements of a specific musical style, displaying some of the characteristics of that style. The composition would be a relatively convincing representation of the style at this level. They display an ability to work competently within the specifics of the brief and display good time management skills.

Describe the main musical elements of the style identified in 1.1, illustrating the relevance of the following, where appropriate: a. instrumentation; b. structure; c. rhythm; d. lyrical content; e. use of technology; f. production making reference to two recorded examples by two prominent artists in the style. Describe personal response to the style identified in 1.1 in terms of, where applicable: a. relationship to own musical output; b. relationship to own image/lifestyle; c. relationship to other personal musical likes and dislikes
