Installation Procedures
You can begin the installation after confirming that the items described in Hardware and Software Requirements are available. The installation must be performed according to the procedures described in this section.
EMS-BGF for MSPP (V10.0/V11.0/V11.3/V12.0/V12.1) EMS-BGF for CESR (V11.4/V12.5) EMS-BGF for MSPP and CESR (V13)
If you previously installed any one of them, before installing the new EMSBGF, you have to run stopServer.sh to completely stop the current running EMS-BGF application and then install the required new application. After installation, restart zone and the EMS-BGF will start automatically.

GUI Cut-Through (GCT)
In this chapter:
Overview ......................................................................................................... 3-1 Checking the Configuration............................................................................. 3-3
Overview
LightSoft manages a network through an EMS (Element Management System) which provides LightSoft with the information it needs to maintain the network. There are times when you may need to use LightSoft to view windows from the EMS. Normally, this would require you to log into the EMS on the local terminal and find the information manually. To make things easier and more efficient, LightSofts GCT allows you to view EMS information without having to start an individual EMS session.

3-1
There are two cases for the configuration according to your installation on Solaris:
Case 1: Install the EMS-BGF's server and client on the same machine (on Solaris). In this case, when you install EMS-BGFs client on the station, the GCTAdmin Service will automatically run. Case 2: Install the EMS-BGF's server on one machine, and the client on Client-Server machine, as shown in the following figure. In this case, when you install EMS-BGFs client on Client-Server machine, then GCTAdmin Service will automatically run.
From this figure, we see that the EMS Server is installed on Windows and the Client-Server is on Linux. It solves the problem that Windows does not support X-Window protocol, and provides the GCT support for integration with LightSoft.

3-3
To check the configuration for Case 2 (server on A machine and client on B machine): 1. Ensure that the EMS-BGF's client is installed on non-windows systems. 2. Check whether "GCTAdminServerIP" is the same with "B machine IP" in the file "/opt/EMS-BGF/server/etc/emsserver.properties" on A machine. If not, change it and restart the EMS-BGF's server. 3. Type the command "ps -ef|grep java" in terminal to check whether the GCTAdmin service is normal on B machine. If the GCTAdmin service is normal, the progress will show as below.
Otherwise, please manually run "/opt/EMSBGF/client/sh/runGCTAdmin.sh" with user bgf and then try it again.
