ABSTRACT

Police Dairy first module comes with Record Management System (RMS), RMS applies to Police Institutions all across the country in India and specifically looks into the subject of Crime Records Management. It is well understood that Crime Prevention, Detection and Conviction of criminals depend on a highly responsive backbone of Information Management. The efficiency of the Policing function and the effectiveness with which it tackles crime depend on what quality of information it can derive from its existing records and how fast it can have access to it. It is proposed to centralize Information Management in Crime for the purposes of fast and efficient sharing of critical information across all Police Stations across the territory. Initially, the system will be implemented across Cities and Towns and later on, be interlinked so that a Police detective can access information across all records in the state thus helping speedy and successful completion to cases. The System would also be used to generate information for pro-active and preventive measures for fighting crime. The first event in the Crime cycle starts with the reporting of a case, usually in the form of a First Information Report (FIR). The FIR is a detailed document that captures critical information about the nature of the crime, the location details, the sequence of details, and information on victims where relevant and other pieces of information pertaining to the crime. An FIR leads to the registration of a case and start of investigation. An Investigation is assigned to an Investigating Officer who will supervise all activities of collecting evidence, questioning of suspects and other people related to the crime. The Investigating officer will have the authority for making arrests. The conclusion of investigation and compilation of evidence would lead to filing of charges in the appropriate court of law. Evidence is collected during an investigation and it is very important to categories and file evidence pertaining to a case for easy retrieval later on. Some evidence comes in the form of Documents that are either in original form or as copies. Material objects can also be collected as evidence along with other items like Photographs, books, articles etc.

Police Dairy second module comes with Court Management System (CMS) to provide full Court Docket Management, Plea, Fine and Sentence Management, Financial Transactions, Standard Court Forms and etc, this package integrates with Computer Aided Dispatch System (CAD) i.e. Police dairy third module as identified so far
