Purpose
TowerMountedAmplifierisusedtominimizethepathimbalanceduetoweakuplinksignal strengthonacell.TMAalsoenhancestheuplinksignalstrengthinordertoreducethepingpong handoversduetoweakuplink.TMAwillbeinstalledinCMPaknetworktoincreaseuplinksignal strengthandtoimprovecustomersperception.

Description
ThisisveryimportantforTMAprojecttochoosetherightcell forTMAuse.RANOptimizationteamwillselectthelistofcells whereTMAisrequired.Thiswillbedonebymonitoringcell statisticaldata ItisresponsibilityofFOPstomakesurethatatleastonedry connectionisavailableforselectedcellforExternalAlarm Patching.Thiscanalsobedonebyremovingalreadypatched alarmshavingleastimportance. Finallistofcellswillbegiventothevendortosubmitthe projectexecutionplanandtimelineaccordingly A12hoursworkorderwillbeassignedtovendortoperform installationactivity,asthisactivityinvolvessectorlock. TMAinstallationwillbeperformedbyVendoraccordingtothe submittedplan CMPakFOPswillberesponsibletomakeaccesstothesitesfor vendortoinstallTMA. VendorwillberesponsibleforTMAinstallationandExternal Alarmpatchingforthecell AlongwiththeVendorFopswillconducttheinitialtest before andaftertheactivityifallinstallationsaredonecorrectly Incaseofanyserviceaffectingsnagsitshallberemoved immediately,forotherVendorwillhave2daystofixtheissue. AfterTMAinstallationandremovalofallSnags,RAN Optimizationwillmonitorthestatsandpreparebenchmark reportofthechange.IncaseofanyambiguitiesfoundFOPSand Vendorwillbeintimated. Aftermonitoryfor7daysfrominstallationofTMA,RAN OptimizationandFOPswillsignthePATdocument.

Path Imbalance (ve value) depicts weak uplink signal strength, cells with high path imbalancevalues High number of ping pong uplink handovers for a cell due to weak uplink signal strength Highnumberofcalldroprateduetoweakuplinksignalstrength Pooruplinksignalqualityduetoweaksignalstrength AveragehighTAforthecell RecentAlarmsonthecell Hardwarefaultsthatmayimpactpathbalance Cellshouldbeselectedonthebasisofatleast15daystrend

AfterTMAInstallation FollowingtestmustbeconductedaftertheTMAisinstalledon thecell.Thiswillbeperformedby vendorandCMPakFOPs Completehealthcheckofcell AntennaPhysicalParameters(Azimuth,Tilt,Height) VSWR TRXPower TotalOutputPower CableLoss Installationshouldbeaspertheagreedlayoutprovidedbythevendor. Taggingshouldbecomplete(forTMA,Alarmcables,Jumpers) PropergroundingofPDUandTMA. ProperpowerconnectionsofPDUinrectifierwithsuitablewiringconnectionsandTee Bias. Allalarmsarecheckedandremoved.Cableloss,insertionlossetc.shouldbeasperthe belowthespecifiedthreshold. Weather proofing and finishing tape on jumper cables and connectors should be installed. ProperfixingofTMAonmount(withappropriateclamps). Propercablelayoutandisarrangementisdonecleanly. Allsnagsareremoved. Externalalarmsareworking. VSWRisbelowthethreshold. Ensuretheentirechecklistiscomplete. PATdocumentisfilledaccurately.
