UNIT : TECHNOLOGICAL PROBLEM SOLVING PROCESS

TECHNOLOGY CLASSROOM.
The technology classroom is diferent to other classes. In this class you can find tools, apliances, devices and various materials like wood, iron and plastic. In this class we make the class in two differents ways. One is in an academic way with explanations, exercises and exams. On the other hand we make here projects about some of the units we will see, p.e. devices, electricity, wood, etc.. For this reason the class is divided in two areas: I.- Class area. Here we make the academic part of the subjet and you can find stools, tables, a blackboard and some types of tv board.

II.- Workshop area. In this part of the class you can find tools at the toolsboard to work with wood, iron, cupboard to keep the projects wich you are working, working table made in iron.

PROCESS OF INVENTION AND TECHNOLOGICAL DESIGN.

Step 1 - Identify a Need or Want. You have to know what is your need to solve it Step 2 - Brainstorm Solutions Generate possible ideas/solutions by using a brainstorming strategy. Step 3 - Select a Solution Look at all the solutions! Develop a list of criteria to help evaluate your solution ideas. Evaluate each solution by using the criteria and identify the best solution. Step 4 - Conduct Research Research your invention. Step 5 - Develop a Plan Plan how to develop your invention. Step 6 - Design and Build a Model Make a sketch or drawing! Decide on materials! Make a model or a prototype! Determine if the invention can be improved. Step 7 - Test the Model Demonstrate what the model does. Collect feedback on your invention. Make needed changes. Step 8 - Evaluate Your Invention Process & Product If everything is ok, your work is finish. If something is wrong you must return to the point 3.

SCIENCE, SKILL AND TECHNOLOGY.

We are living in a technical world, and we use the terms science, technical and technology in a different ways and not always in the right way. -Science. Science is a continuing effort to discover and increase human knowledge and understanding through disciplined research. Using controlled methods, scientists collect observable evidence of natural or social phenomena, record measurable data relating to the observations, and analyze this information to construct theoretical explanations of how things work. -Skill. The whole of the differents ways to make something, skill based in the science and the human use to make a work on the easiest and the most effective way. -Technology. It is the practical application of knowledge specially in a particular area, or a capability given by the practical application of knowledge.
