Sensible Pencil ArtWizard Guide

for ArtMaster
2004 Fo2PiX Limited

Step 1: The ArtWizard has started by selecting Source 7 from the Drawn Edges Tab and placing it in the Palette. To get the contents of the Palette onto to the Canvas, use the Brush at the end of your cursor, or click the Default button and the ArtWizard will paint it for you.

The ArtWizard has set the H/S (Hue/ Saturation) Mixer to 50,0 to desaturate the brown-tinted Source 7 - to resaturate it, click, hold and drag the B/C Mixers slider up the screen.

Step 2: Using Source 5 from the Highlights Tab, the ArtWizard has auto-filled the Canvas to remove areas of unnecessary detail and simplify the image.

The ArtWizard has set the A/B (Amount/Blend) Mixers Mode to 100,1 Pure White. This has been done so that the white areas of the Palette are blended onto the Canvas and the black areas of the Palette are not.

Step 3: The ArtWizard has auto-filled the Canvas to remove smaller areas of detail and make the sketch in Step 1 even simpler.

To remove the white highlights that the ArtWizard auto-filled, just click the Clear button and to put them back again, just click the Fill button.

Step 4: The ArtWizard has now selected Source 8 from the Shaded Edges Tab. This Step involves thousands of brushstrokes, so the suggestion is to click the Default button and let the ArtWizard do the work for you.

Although the ArtWizard has drawn many crosshatched lines, it is possible that it might have missed some areas, so before you click Continue fill in any missing areas by using the Brush at the end of your cursor.

Step 5: The ArtWizard has selected Source 3 from the Shaded Edges Tab. As with Step 4, the suggestion is to click the Default button and let the ArtWizard draw for you.

The default setting for the B/C (Brightness/ Contrast) Mixer is 55,73. To change the brightness and contrast of the Palette and how it has been painted onto the Canvas, click, hold and drag the B/C Mixers slider up and to the right.

Step 6: : Using Source 2 from the Shaded Edges Tab, you can paint in the tiny areas of pencil detail. Alternatively, click the Default button and the ArtWizard will do it for you.

Choose a large soft brush to paint very small detail.

Step 7: The last four Steps in this ArtWizard are going to use the first four Sources of the Highlights Tab, starting with Source 4. Use the Brush to paint in the white areas or click the Default button.

The A/B Mixer is set to 100,1 Pure White to ensure that just the white elements of the Palette, and not the black, are blended onto the Canvas.

Step 8: Add small highlights by painting in Source 3 from the Highlights Tab concentrate on the areas you want to accentuate.

If you think your Canvas is ready for printing after this Step, just click the Finish button and proceed to the Layout Editor.

Step 9: Using Source 2 from the Highlights Tab, paint in the subtle tiny areas of white.

You can change the Size, Shape, Softness and Rotation of your Brush by using the Brush Controllers located at the top of your screen.

Step 10: In this final Step, paint any of the tiniest areas of white from Source 1 from the Highlights Tab.

Save this Canvas and then experiment by running other ArtWizards (or Steps from other ArtWizards) over this Canvas.
