GOODWIN LIBRARY ADVOCACY DAY is April 20

Meet Pat O'Brien
Rochester Poet Laureate, Singer, Songwriter, and Storyteller
Patricia OBrien is great friend to the Goodwin Library, participating in the Poet and Writer Project , our annual Poet's Tea, and performing for us in concert. Pat plays guitar, banjo, and tin whistle. Growing up in Boston exposed her to the rich tradition of Irish music. In 2012, Pat was named Rochester Poet Laureate. She hosts a monthly writers night, featuring published writers, and providing an open mic experience for any writers who would like to share their original works. Pat maintains an active solo performance schedule, singing original songs, reading from her poetry, and telling stories that reflect her life adventures, her travels through Ireland, and her indelible sense of humor. In addition to her busy solo schedule, she performs with Bradigan, a band that blends Irish, Scottish and American music into its own very unique and delightful sound.
