This form is for centres to apply for approval for a trainer in training.
A prospective trainers application to be a trainer must be supported by the centre. The prospective trainer must be working at the centre where the training is to take place or at a pending centre and must be recommended for training by either the training centre or the pending centre. Applicants with little or no teacher training experience will need to follow a full training programme. This involves following a programme of structured and guided activities on a Teaching Award course. The training may take place intensively over one course or preferably extensively over a number of courses. For applicants with substantial teacher training experience, a shorter induction programme may be agreed. Part Two - Professional experience Applicant trainers are required to have substantial (normally 5 years) varied and current classroom-based ELT experience, preferably in more than one context. Experience of teaching a range of levels and different types of class is a requirement. Please tick to confirm that the applicant trainer meets Cambridge ESOL requirements for Professional experience. Part Three - Professional development Applicant trainers are required to show evidence of professional commitment in English Language Teaching. This could include involvement in staff development, conference attendance, etc. Please tick to confirm that the applicant trainer meets Cambridge ESOL requirements for Professional development.
