The Boss
You cant live without your brain, its the boss of your whole body. The brain controls everything about the nervous system. The brain sends messages to the nerves and the nerves sends messages back to the brain. Nerves are thin long cables . If you want to move your arm the nerves send messages to the brain and the brain sends back a message to move your arm.
Nerves: Thin long cables that carry messages from and back to the brain
The Controller
This system controls life organs and parts we dont control like breathing, digesting food, and circulating blood.
Spinal Cord: Main central nervous messaging system from there messages go to the rest of the body
Hormones: A substance produced by glands in the body, and carried by the blood to stimulate other organs
Spinal Cord: Central nervous messaging system from there it goes to the rest of the body
Mind Healthiness
How to keep your brain healthy? You can do many things. You can eat healthy foods, exercise regularly, while playing dangerous sports use head protection.
Brain Exercise
Also you can exercise your brain by playing puzzles, reading, playing music and making art.
Deadly Diseases
Parkinsons Disease is a disorder in the central nervous system (CNS). A person with this disease loses control of their body movement. In the deepest part of the brain there are some nerve cells known as basal ganglia. The nerve cells are damaged and do not work as well as they should. These nerve cells have a brain chemical called dopamine, it sends messages by neurons to different parts of the body including the brain.A person with Parkinsons Disease has low dopamine levels. Basal ganglia: A group of nerve cells that control movement
Rabies
There are also rabies this is an infection if its not treated your brain can swell and the person could die. You can get this disease from a scratch or bite from animals that carry it in its saliva. Any mammal can get rabies like foxes, raccoons, bats and skunks. this happens when the animal nerves dont work properly so it cant swallow its saliva. If you treat the rabies immediately you get cure if not you can die.
Epilepsy
The epilepsy is a disease that causes seizures when the brain misre electrical signals. it starts a temporary communication problems between nerve cells. after a seizure the person may feel weak, tired and confused.
Mind Facts
The brain is many times more complex than the best computer. It operates in the amount on electric power that would light a 10watt light bulb. The brain has more water than blood; it is about 85% water. You have about 100,000,000 nerves in your body that connect to your senses and other things like muscles. Messages travel in nerves at a hundred eighty six miles per hour (two hundred ninety eight kilometers per hour.)
Conclusion
I learned that without your nervous system you wouldnt control your body and you cant live without it. I realized its very, very important like all systems but this controls everything. I think it is important for you to protect it.
QUIZ!!!
1.What are nerves and what is the role of the nerves? 2.What is some memories stored in the cerebrum? 3.What is the role of the hypothalamus? 4.What causes rabies? 5.what are three things that you can do to keep the brain healthy?
