So you can well imagine how pleased i was, I especially liked the one you selected. I noticed its point and trimming were 14 K gold. You must have paid a lot of money for the pen. I decided to try it out immediately by writing a letter to thank you. As you can see, the pen writes very smoothly. It makes a very fine line and is so supperior to the cheap pen I have been using. My father also tried the pen and stated that it wrote very well and was a really nice pen. Sinse it is such a beautiful, reliable, and costly pen, I shall have to take good care of it. Any time I go to school, I shall put it in a box and carry it in my brief case. I dare not put it in my pocket for fear that I shall lose it or that someone might take it from me. I promise you I shall try to keep it as long as possible and shall always remember that you gave it to me. We are all in good health and have been very busy of late. Nghia Tan No 11 Dear Mom and Dad By this time I am well adjusted to living away from home. Living in another country is the only way to become acquainted with what the people are really like. It is only by becoming very good friends with some of the American students here at school that I have gained many insight s into their way of life. Even though the country side looks very different here and the weather changes to great extremes from winter cold and snow to summer sun and heat. I find that people are the same everywhere. Everyone has respect and love especially for their family. And special loyalty toward friends. Everyone is connerned with living in peace with his fellowmen, but sometimes this is hard to see clearly. All men have love for their country and a need to do satisfying work. And everyone needs to have a home of his own and to raise his own family. I am learning a lot by being here for so long . I am learning about life through living here. And not just from studying at the universty. However, studying is what I must do right now. So until I write again. I remain your loving son. Your son.
