A Fill in the blank: prepositions 5 questions x 2 points each = 10 points total Example: What show is _on_ TV right now? While taking the test, be sure to cross out the answers as you use them. B Sentence transformation: passive 5 x 3 = 15 pts. Ask me before the test if you need help! C Sentence transformation: inversion 5 x 4 = 20 pts. Example: He wont ever walk these streets again. Never again __will he walk these streets.____ Tips: Study your notes, review your exercises in the book , and practice making inverted sentences on your own. Look out for the phrases only after, only by, only if, only when, and not until, which make sentences where the first clause is NOT inverted but the second clause is. D Complete the sentence: conditionals 5 x 3 = 15 pts. Example: He didnt eat healthy food, so he got sick. eaten If _he had eaten healthy food_, he wouldnt have gotten sick. Tips: I recommend practicing writing sentences using the different types of conditionals. E Word transformation 5 x 2 = 10 pts. Example: The _increased_ number of cars has led to traffic problems. Tips: Pay attention to the prefixes and suffixes we use in class. Learn a few words with each important affix and use them in your writing and speaking for class. Also practice making sentences with them and imagine using the sentences. Note: The words are already in the right ordermatched with the sentences they belong in. The first word goes with the first sentence, the second word with the second sentence, etc. You only have to choose the correct form of the wordnot choose which word goes with which sentence. F Essay: Reports and Proposals 5 pts. Length and presentation: Is it long enough? Is it nice to look at and easy to read? 5 pts. Grammar and spelling: Are there many grammar or spelling mistakes? 10 pts. Structure and logic: Are the ideas arranged in a logical way? Is it clear how they relate to eachother? 10 pts. Content: Does the argument make sense? Are they good? Are they original?_ 30 pts. Total You will be given two prompts each asking you to write either a report or a proposal. You will answer ONE of the two prompts. Tips: Practice writing. Even writing a personal journal can help a lot. Read!both in English and in Albanian.
