My Inspiration
My Love
CRAFT: I made this picture using the Illustrator pro-

gram. To create this picture, I tracedthe original picture to give it that cartoon effect. I used the pen tool to draw the different shapes in the picture. i then used the eye dropper tool to take the color of that specific spot.

CONCEPT: This is a picture of me and my son Aaron. I made this for the assignment of Tracing. We were challenged to create the original picture my tracing many of the different shapes that made up the complete picture. This is my final piece for the project. When I had finished this piece I decided to title it A Mothers Inspiration. I titled it this way because my son is a huge part of my life now and if it wasnt for him I wouldnt be where I am today. Everything I do is for me and him. COMPOSITION: I am trying to control the
viewers eye by having them being able to see the foreground first, which is my face. The second part I would like the viewer to see is the middle ground, which is my ons face. The last thing they will see is the background, obviously. When the viewer sees this piece they are most likely going to think that he is my brother. the last thing that they will think is that he is my son. I want them to go into a deeper thought after they read what my title is. then they will understand.

Fierce Elegance
CRAFT: I made this picture using the Photoshop program. To create
this picture, I chose four pictures to create a collage. I wanted to create something that would grab the views eye right away. I used different adjusment layers to create this stormy effect.

CONCEPT:

I made this for the assignment of Collaging. We were challenged to create a collage using 4 or more different pictures. This is my final piece for the project. When I had finished this piece I decided to title it Fierce Elegance. I titled it this way because many poeple think of butterflies as being elegant and peaceful. When I look at this piece it is fierce because of the added lightening to make it seem as if the butterfly was caught in the storm.

COMPOSITION: I am trying to control the viewers eye by

having them being able to see the foreground first, which is the butterfly. The second part I would like the viewer to see is the middle ground, whch is the lightening and the moon.. The last thing they will see is the background, obviously. When the viewer sees this picture, I want them to see that there is always some beauty inside of a storm. I want them to go into a deeper thought after they read what my title is.

Kyra Tate 25

STEP ONE
The First Step I did was choose a brackground that I wanted to work with and made a background copy layer to work on.

STEP FOUR
The Fourth Step was to take the picture of the moon and place it in the top left corner, behind the butterfly and lightening layers. To make the moon appear a little transparent I changed each color mode. One color mode was liner burn and the other was multiply.

STEP TWO
The Second Step I took was chose a second picture, in this case the butterfly, and I placed in right in the middle of the page so it would be the center of attention. The Fifth Step was to make everything behind the butterfly black and white. in order to do this, I made a black and white adjustment layer and apllied it to eveything under the butterfly.

STEP FIVE

STEP THREE
The third step i did was took a picture of lightening and put the layer that it was on behind the butterfly layer.

FINAL
The last and final step was to apply a hue/ saturation adjustment layer. This adjustment layer allowed me to change the color of the butterfly.

The secound thing that I did was made a layer mask on her face in the background copy layer. After doing so, I placed my face where her face once was.

Final:

Pour It Up
CRAFT: I made this picture using the Illustrator program. To create this
picture, I use a Wacom Tablet and the pen to go along with it. to create this picture, I used 100 strokes of line to create the look of a wine glass.

CONCEPT:

I made this for the assignment of 100 strokes of line. We were challenged to create a picture using only 100 strokes.

COMPOSITION: I am trying to control the viewers eye by hav-

ing them look at the bottom of the wine glass first and then begin to make their way up to the top of it. By looking at this piece the viewer will not know what it is at first but as you study the pictures and the title to go along with it you will then begin to understand what it is. Even though it is only a 100 stroke drawing there is much more to this piece then meets the eye. By examining this picture you wont be able to tell that it was drawn intentionally to be only 100 strokes of line.

Lines of W ater
Taste the Pureness

CRAFT: I made this using my hand to create 100 strokes of line to CONCEPT:

create the effect of it being a water bottle. The tools I used to create this piece was a wacom tablet and the pen to go along with it. This image is a drawing of a water bottle. I made this for an assignment that challenged us to create an image, from still life, using only 100 strokes. When I finished drawing this I decided to title this piece Lines of Water. I came up with this name, not to give the literal meaning that it is a water bottle, but to get the view thinking of reasons why I named it this. I gave it this title because the piece is mad of line so i wanted to incorporate the word line into the title.

COMPOSITION: I am trying to control the viewers eye by

having them look at the bottom of the water bottle first and then begin to make their way up to the top of it. By looking at this piece the viewer will not know what it is at first but as you study the pictures and the title to go along with it you will then begin to understand what it is. Even though it is only a 110 stroke drawing there is much more to this piece then meets the eye. By examining this picture you wont be able to tell that it was drawn intentionally to be only 100 strokes of line.
