9. Conclusion: Today we learned how Native American life, culture and attributes where like in Nevada before, during and after Europeans and explorers came to this region of the world. Have the students do a Ticket out the Door about what they learned today. F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? I will assess the students Social Studies notebook on the notes that they took during the presentation. I will also use the ticket out the door to assess what they learned about Washoe Native Americans and their life, culture and attributes. Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. I will recognize that the students understand the concepts by reading their Social Studies notebook. I will also assess if what was said today by the guest speaker reinforced what they learned at the museum through their Social Studies notebook and ticket out the door assignment. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think having the guest speaker doing most of the presentation for the day would be the easiest part of this lesson. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? It might be hard to find a Nevada Native American to come into the class. But I think that it would offer one of the best resources for this content area. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? I will follow up this lesson tomorrow with more information about the Nevada Washoe Native American Indians. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? We can discuss further what they themselves and their classmates wrote in their Social Studies notebooks about the guest speaker and the information he shared with the class. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I might need to change the date of the speaker if he/she could not come on this particular day. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? Trying to write the kid friendly objective.
