5. Discuss with your group- Have students discuss the photographs in the textbook. 6. CLOSURE: Discuss the three statements in the Review and Assess section TE 259 F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? To measure students understanding students will get in groups of four and discuss the three main resources of the West and also describe how people use them. Include anything from ideas, people, and goods. How does Nevada play a role in this topic? G7.4.3 List examples of people, goods, and ideas into and across Nevada. Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. Teacher will be able to identify if students understand the concepts from the lesson by walking around the classroom, observing students and listening to their discussions. Teacher can step in and assist them by guiding them into the correct concept. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think the easiest part to teach will be relating this lesson to our state, since it is part of the Western states. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? I think the most challenging part to teach will be to reinforce the differences and similarities between the Midwest and West. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? As an extension to the lesson, I would have students complete the Extended Lesson 2 (pg. 260-261). 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? For the students that who dont grasp the concepts, I would use the Reteach Mini lesson on pg 259. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I like how this lesson is already given; I dont think I would change anything. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? The most difficult part of this lesson plan was combining the Midwest and West together. I was debating whether it was a good idea or not, but so far Ive liked

how the lessons combined are coming out. I like how I was able to combine these two lessons as our state of Nevada is part of the Western states, so students will be able to relate to it more rather than if it wasnt part of it.
