Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? Students will write a short paragraph describing the trade with China and compare it to a time youve made a trade with someone. E10.5.1 Define trade and commodities used in trade.

Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. Students will write a short paragraph describing the trade with China and compare it to a time youve made a trade with someone. This will allow me to know if students understand the concept of merchant/trade by comparing to a trade theyve done before. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think the easiest part to teach will be explaining a time that I made a trade for something that has changed or impacted my life. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? I think the most challenging part to teach will be building on background knowledge, as some students may not have an item or something to trade or exchange. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? As an extension to the lesson, I would use Extend Lesson 1 (pg. 88-89) The Silk Road. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? For the students that who dont grasp the concepts, I would use the Reteach Mini lesson on pg 87. I would do this gathering in small groups. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I like the way this lesson has been created, I dont think I would make any changes.
