Overview of the System

Designed specifically for public network operators, the MartisDXX platform is a system of modular hardware and powerful software that enables the rapid deployment and expansion of access and transport networks of any size. A MartisDXX system is made up of intelligent digital access and crossconnect nodes, configurable and scalable to meet customer requirements, whatever their size or service need. All MartisDXX network elements are managed and flexibly configured using a single network management system from a centralised site.
A Basic Node is essential building block of the MartisDXX system. It can be used as a component in local exchange or backbone layer of the network, as well as in customer premises, depending on the needed services and applications. Basic Node consists of a single or double 19inch subrack (on the right) with a total crossconnect capacity of 64 Mbps. Trunk interface units, customer access interfaces, and server units are easily added because of the modular structure of MartisDXX nodes. And to guarantee the best service availability for the end customers, different path protection schemes can be implemented. Furthermore, the whole MartisDXX network is easily managed and configured with the MartisDXX Manager from a centralised site.

Cross-connect Functionality Special Functions

Total cross-connect capacity for Basic Node is 64 Mbps, which can, for example, be allocated as 32 x 2 Mbps or 8 x 8 Mbps. The Basic Node is fully non-blocking.
Path protection: The Basic Node supports 1+1 path protection. Trunk and circuit level recovery by MartisDXX Manager. Broadcast: Unidirectional broadcast circuits are easily configurable via the Manager software. Point-to-multipoint: With a server card in the Basic Node, the system supports point-to-multipoint functionality. Testing: Built-in test generator in control units (SCU).

Network management Alarms

The Basic Node is totally manageable and configurable with the MartisDXX Manager. Alarm contacts are accessible through the D-type, 9-pin male connector on the front panel of the shelf power unit. Four alarm outputs are provided in PFU-A and PAU-10T and three alarm outputs in the PAU. There is number of options available, including both AC (PAU, PAU-5T and PAU-10T) and DC (PFU-A/B) variants. Please see separate Data Sheets of power supply units. < 100 W, one shelf equipped with 2 Mbps G.703 interfaces. Normal conditions: + 5 to +35 C, from 5 % to 85 % non-condensing.
