9. Which of the following changes apply to HTTPS client communication, which used to be known as native mode in Configuration Manager 2007? A. Mobile device clients must uses HTTPS, Internet Based clients must uses HTTPS, you no longer create and configure a site server signing certificate, SHA-2 is now supported. Site system roles in the same site can have different settings, for example, some management points are configured for HTTPS and some are configured for HTTP. Mobile Devices and client connections over the internet must use HTTPS. You dont have to specify a PKI certificate for document signing(the site server signing certificates in configuration manager 2007) because system center 2012 configuration manager automatically create this certificate(self-signed), in addition, many certificates now support SHA-2 in addition to SHA-1. . 10. Can you have a subset of computers in the site that are enabled for remote control? A. Yes These types of client settings are no longer restricted to the site. Instead System Center 2012 Configuration Manager has client settings that are applied at the hierarchy. If you need additional flexibility for groups of users or computers, configure custom client settings and assign them to collections. For Example, you can configure remote control to be available only on specified computers. 11. Can System Center 2012 Configuration Manager automatically upgrade a Configuration Manager 2007 client? A. Yes Configuration Manager can automatically upgrade Configuration Manager 2007 and System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Clients to the latest System Center 2012 Configuration Manager version when they are below a version that you supply. 12. If you want to continue to manage mobile devices as you did in Configuration Manager 2007(Now referred to as mobile device legacy clients), which of the following are no longer supported? A. File collection, Settings and Multiple Management Points. Whereas Configuration Manager 2007 did not required PKI certificates, System Center 2012 Configuration Manager requires PKI certificates on the mobile device and the management point and distribution points. Multiple management points, file collection and setting management are not supported for mobile device legacy clients.

13. Are there new options for software metering? A. No There are no significant changes for software metering in Configuration Manager since Configuration Manager 2007. 14. Can you create a collection without specifying a limiting collection? A. No In System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, all collections must be limited to the membership of another collection. When you create a collection, you must specify a limiting collection. A collection is always a subset of its limiting collection. 15. Are there new maintenance tasks for asset intelligence? A. Yes The two new maintenance tasks are Check Application Title with Inventory Information and Summarize Installed Software Data. The first new maintenance tasks check that the software title reported in software inventory is reconciled with the software title in asset intelligence catalog. The second maintenance task provides the information displayed in Inventoried Software in the Asset Intelligence node in the assets and compliance workspace. 16. Does client status (used to be client status reporting) now support automatic remediation? A. Yes Typical client problems that are detected are automatically remediated. 17. Which of the following have changed for endpoint protection since Forefront endpoint protection 2010? A. Setup for Endpoint Protection, Installation of the Endpoint Protection, Installation of the Endpoint Protection Client, Notification of malware. You no longer run a separate setup program to install endpoint protection server, but instead select the endpoint protection as one of the available configuration manager site system roles. The endpoint protection dashboard is automatically integrated with configuration manager console. You now install endpoint protection client by using client settings and you can configure multiple malware alert types and subscriptions to notify you about these alerts by using email. 18. Do alerts in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager work the same way as alerts in Operations Manager? A. No System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Page 12
