1. Introduction

This USB SIM card reader is a convenient tool allowing you to efficiently manage and
backup mobile phones SIM card data. Using the device together with the provided SIM
Editor software, you can edit SIM cards phonebook and messages, PIN code and
exchange data between SIM cards, without the hassle to use mobile phone keypad.

2. Driver Installation

Caution: Before connecting the SIM Card Reader to your computer for the first time,
please install the driver first and then plug in the device.
1. Insert the CDROM into your CD-ROM drive. The CDMenu will automatically start.

Note: If the CDMenu does not start automatically, double-click the cdmenu.exe
file under x:\menu (where x: is your CD-ROM drive letter).

2. Click Install SIM Reader driver

3. Click Next, and follow the instructions on your screen.

4. Click Finish to complete the installation.

5. Plug the SIM Card Reader into a free USB port on your computer.
6. Windows will now detect the new hardware.


7. Click "Install the software automatically for windows 2000/XP, or "Search
for the best driver for your device in windows 98SE/ME.
Note: During the installation, the Windows compatibility warning or Digital
Signature Not Found message can appear, click Continue Anyway or Yes to
proceed.

3. SIM Editor Software Installation

A SIM Editor utility is provided to help you manage SIM card data in an easier
way. Take these steps to install the utility.
1. Insert the provided CD into your CD-ROM drive. The CDMenu will automatically start.

Note: If the CDMenu does not start automatically, double-click the cdmenu.exe file
under x:\menu (where x: is your CD-ROM drive letter).
2. Click Install SIM Editor utility

3. Click Next to and follow the instructions on your screen.

4. Click Finish to complete the setup.


4. Using the SIM Editor Software
Reading a SIM card
1. Connect the SIM Card Reader to a free USB port on your computer.


2. Insert your SIM card into the reader with the gold contacts facing down.
3. Launch the SIM Editor. Go to Start > Programs > Sitecom SIM Editor > Sitecom
SIM Editor.

4. If your SIM card is locked with a PIN code, enter your PIN to continue.


5. The Sitecom SIM Editor software will now read your SIM card and display the
phone-numbers. Click the SMS Messages button on the left side of the screen to
view the SMS messages on your SIM card.


Adding and Editing data on a SIM card

Adding phone numbers or SMS messages to your SIM card, and editing existing
data on the card works very similar. Double mouse-click on an existing contact or
message, or double click on an empty line to open the dialog box.

Backing up your SIM card
To make it easier to backup the content of your SIM card, theres a backup@once
button. Click this button to make a complete backup of your contacts and messages.



When a SIM card is backed up, all phone numbers and SMS messages are stored in a
catalog on the PC. To copy data back to a SIM card, choose the correct catalog, and
select the contact(s) or messages you want to copy. Click the Copy to SIM button to
copy the selected items to your SIM.

Note: Keep the CTRL-button on your keyboard pressed to select multiple contacts
or messages.

Modifying PIN
To modify PIN, select SIM > Modify PIN and then enter old and new PIN in provided
fields and click OK to confirm the changes.
