Ticket Selling Glossary

SELLING TERMS
Bus Driver All bus drivers are allowed into the park for free with a valid commercial driver license (CDL). Issue a complimentary ticket and register the bus driver like a season pass. Put Bus Driver and the name of the group they drove into the notes section. Complimentary Ticket Form This will be an orange sheet hanging on a clipboard behind every seller. This must be signed by the customer every time there is a complimentary ticket given out. Diary Located as a shortcut on the selling computers desktop. Managers will leave notes about prices for specific groups, special needs customers, or complimentary tickets for that day. Look Up Form This will be the pink sheet hanging on a clipboard behind every seller. This must be read and signed by the customer every time there is a season pass look up. Purchase Order Form This will be the half blue sheet hanging on a clipboard behind every seller. These are used for large group transactions, usually big school groups. Used by supervisors only unless you are given permission from the manager. Rain check There are NO rain checks. Once a ticket is surrendered and scanned at the gate, it is invalid. Scalping Attempting to resell any tickets on Adventureland property is illegal and will result in asking the perpetrator to leave the premise. Note that the parking lot is still Adventurelands property. Season Pass Form This will be the green sheet hanging on a clipboard behind every seller. This must be completely filled out by the customer whenever they purchase a new season pass. Will Call Located in selling window 6. Lost seasons passes, family and friends ticket requests, and held tickets will be found here.

FRONT GATE TERMS


Carts (314) The person on the golf cart runs various errands for the front gate through the park and the parking lot. (Also referred to as the Carts radio number 314) Double There is an Am shift for the front gate that lasts from 9:30 to approximately 2:00. The Pm shift lasts from approximately from 2:00 to close. A double is when you get lucky enough to work both shifts back to back. First Aid (323) The First Aid office is located in Guest Information. (Also referred to as the First Aid radio number 323) Middle Booth There are five selling booths with two selling windows in each booth. This refers to the center booth with selling windows 5 and 6. Will Call, Time Off requests, weekly schedule and your supervisors are located here. Season Pass This is the building located 40 yards west of the ticket selling booths. Guests get their pictures taken for their season passes here after getting them registered at a ticket window. Team Captain (TC) These are the employees in dark blue shirts. They have been promoted because they have proved to be good workers. Ticket Drop Three or four times a day, supervisors are required to collect all the currently scanned tickets and drop them off at the bank. Time Off Requests To request time off from work, simply write down your request and hang your note on the board on the right wall in the middle booth. Requests must be in before the next weeks schedule is made, which is typically every Thursday.

PARKING LOT TERMS


Bus Lane The leftmost lane of the four entrance lanes to Adventureland Park. Drop Off Lane A single lane located left of the Bus Lane. This lane runs around the parking lot and right up to the front gate for easy drop off and pick up for customers that do not want to pay for parking. The Adventureland Trolley uses the Drop Off lane to take guests from the Adventureland Hotel to the park. (Note: Buses DO NOT use this lane, Buses will always drop off in Lot 1 in the parking lot)

Kennel This is located to the north of the Parking Booth in the parking lot. It is used for storage and contains the traffic cones used in the parking lot. Parking Booth This is the awning located in the parking lot. There are four lanes to sell parking tickets to incoming guests. Saturday Parking When attendance is expected to be very high on select Saturdays, and sometimes Sundays, employees are required to park in the grass under the Prairie Meadows sign.

INSIDE THE PARK TERMS


Bank The first door on your right outside the commissary. This is where you pick up and return your selling money. Full uniform and nametag are required to enter. Commissary Located behind the park. This is where you may check out uniforms, raincoats, or sweaters. You also clock in, take breaks, buy food, and find the managers offices in the Commissary. Guest Information Located in the second door on the left when entering the park. Lost and Found, locker rentals, First Aid, ECV rentals, wheelchair rentals and ride information can be found here. ECV (Electronic Convenience Vehicle) These are motorized scooters that can be rented for the day from Guest Information for $40. These are not allowed out of the park gates.

The first step to selling tickets is to check the daily schedule posted next to the clock in/out swipe machine in the commissary. Your name will be located next to the ticket window number you will be selling in for your shift. State this assigned number to the bank teller and they will distribute $600 and a coupon bag to you. There are five selling booths with two selling windowing each, starting at number 1 on the left and ending with number 10 on the right. Ask a supervisor or TC to unlock the door to your booth. If you must leave your window unattended for any reason, make sure to lock and close the door. Log into Sales with your account on your selling computer with either the mouse or touchscreen. If for some reason you do not have a log in yet or you have forgotten your password, find a supervisor. Open the cash drawer with the drawer button and arrange your money for your drawer however you feel is best. When you are told to start selling, remove the closed sign and plastic window block from the front of your window. Remember that you will have a supervisor helping you sell until you feel comfortable to sell alone and that supervisors are always willing to answer any questions.

Select the corresponding button for the desired ticket. To sell multiple of the same type of ticket, click the default 1 button. Select desired number. For more than 9, select Big #s To apply any discounts or coupons, select the Coupons button. Press finalize, and then repeat the order and final price to the customer for confirmation. For cash, type the amount of cash given to you by the customer. Any change that is due will appear on the top of the screen in red font. For credit, swipe the credit card and have the customer sign the receipt. Hand the customer their tickets, itemized receipt, and any change due. If there are any questions or refunds needed, find a supervisor.

A) Regular Ages 10 to 64 B) Child Ages 4 to 9 (Under 4 is free) C) Senior Age 65+ D) Additional Tomorrow/Two Day Pass A second day ticket for guests of all ages may be purchased for $25. This ticket
must be purchased the first day the guest visits the park.

E) Group Tickets We offer discounted tickets to groups of 15 or more all attending the same day. This group rate price
changes throughout the season. For every 25 tickets purchased, we also give a free complimentary ticket.

F) Large Group Tickets We offer an ever bigger discount all year for groups 50+. G) Meal ticket These are used throughout the park for a hamburger or hot dog with potato chips and a soft drink. H) Military These tickets are $30 and up to 6 military tickets may be sold for every valid military id. I) Friends and Family These are discounted tickets for any friends or family of any employee in the park. The employee
giving out the discount must leave a note/request in Will Call.

J) Complimentary A free ticket. The complimentary ticket form must be filled out for every complimentary ticket given out. K) Special Event Recognized groups attend the park on a schedule day. These change daily.

A) Season Pass This is the button that charges for the season pass. B) Season Pass Registration - The customer must fill out a season pass form for every pass purchased. Use the Set Guest button to fill in the customers information from either the season pass form or an online form. In the bottom left corner of either form, write the number of your ticket window and circle it. This signifies the pass has been registered. C) Season Pass Reprint You must register the guest so their new pass has a new id number. Simply use the season pass registration and use the previous information already in the system. Add to the notes sections of the registration reprint, date, and your initials. D) Season Pass Look Up (Forgot/Lost) Every guest has one free look up for the year. All lost passes must be reported to a supervisor so the lost id number can be cancelled. Use the guest look up button and add to the notes section look up, date, and your initials. Make sure the guest reads and signs the look up form. Guests are not allowed to touch Look Up tickets. Walk the tickets and the guest to the gate and hand the tickets directly to a ticket scanner.

Buttons for supervisors only


A) Additional Today Special case of a 2nd day ticket not purchased the day before. B) Corporate Partner/Consignment Requires permission from a manager. C) Free Return Trip Requires permission from a manager. D) Ticket without a ticket Used for lost/forgotten single day only tickets. E) Parking Special case refunds. F) Upcharge/Upgrade Requires permission from a manager.
