Comments 1st real backpacking experience 11 days of backpacking. First trip longer than 4 days I worked at base camp at Philmont and backpacked on my days off. Each trip was 2-3 days long. Summer. REC 324 trip, 1st part. Was Leader-of-the-Day for a day. Also had to navigate, and bushwhack our way to our destination one day. Summer, rain, storms, high humidity. I worked at a backcountry camp at Philmont and backpacked on my days off. The Miles per trip varied. Summer. Led a trip for Outdoor Pursuits. Late Fall, cold, windy, rainy weather.
