Changes to subsidy entitlement for Early Years providers Capita Recruitment Vetting Service (CRVS) has been advised that the current Government subsidy provided to meet the cost of Enhanced Criminal Records checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, formerly known as the Criminal Records Bureau) for Ofsted registered childcare providers and their employees, will cease from 1 July 2013. This means that from that date CRVS and other DBS registered bodies will no longer be able to claim the cost of these checks from the Government. What this means for You Obtaining Enhanced Disclosures from the Disclosure and Barring Service for all staff and volunteers who work with children is still a mandatory legal requirement. However, all Enhanced Disclosure applications submitted after 1st July 2013 must be paid for in full, either by the hiring organisation or by the applicant. Research suggests that most organisations will request that the applicant pays the Disclosure fee, but this is your choice as payment can be taken using our online payment facility from either the applicant or your organisation. If your organisation would prefer to pay the fee, please contact us on dbs.enquiries@capita.co.uk with your nursery name in the subject line and the statement Please change e-Bulk payment to 'Organisation payment from 1 July 2013 in the body of the email. As a preferred supplier of the Department for Education during the subsidy, Capita Recruitment Vetting Service remains committed to the safeguarding of young children during their Early Years education. We fully appreciate that the removal of this subsidy by the Government could potentially have a significant impact to your business and we have factored this into the charge below to help you as much as we can with this change. As a valued customer, we would like to offer you a reduced administration fee to help you relieve the cost of checking your staff. With effect from 1 July 2013, we are varying the fees in our agreement with you and the following fees will apply: Paid members of staff - 6.50* (this excludes the 44 DBS Enhanced Disclosure fee) Unpaid / volunteer members of staff - 6.50* (reduced admin fee only) We have reduced the admin fee exclusively for existing Early Years customers in order to help you manage the change following the Ofsted announcement. Simple transfer process for existing Capita clients and easy Sage Pay setup e-Bulk is set up to receive payments from either the organisation or the applicant and is managed directly through e-Bulk by our payment provider, Sage Pay. Continued use of the Recruitment Vetting Service will be subject to the terms and conditions on the Capita website. We have made every effort to make the changeover as simple as possible for our existing clients. Using Capita Recruitment Vetting Service as your provider will provide you with the same excellent service that was previously preferred by the Department for Education and is used by over 100 local Councils, NHS Trusts and education providers.
