Canto Product List for Cumulus 8.5 Release

This document lists the Cumulus 8.5 product line. To ensure you get the system thats best suited to your needs, Canto encourages customers and prospects to plan system purchases under the guidance of a Canto partner reseller or Canto Professional Services.

Cumulus 8.5
The Cumulus 8.5 lineup includes systems for all needs and budgets. Each successive system includes all functionality available in lower priced systems, and more. All Cumulus 8.5 Servers are available for Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Solaris. Client software for Windows and Mac OS is included. Some systems include the Cumulus Web Client and Cumulus Sites. (Details below.).

Cumulus Editions

It supports all file types, includes version control (check in/out) and supports all Cumulus 8.x asset relations, such as variants, alternates, etc. Client software for Windows and Mac is included. License limitations: No more than 25 users may be connected to this Server concurrently. Cumulus Workgroup includes 3 concurrent user licenses. It includes all features standard on Cumulus Entry and additionally includes the Cumulus Web Client and Cumulus Sites. License limitations: No more than 25 users may be connected to this Server concurrently. Cumulus Enterprise includes 10 concurrent user licenses. It includes all features standard on Cumulus Workgroup, and also comes with many modules described below under Cumulus Add-ons. Cumulus User Licenses

Cumulus Servers can be upgraded with additional concurrent user licenses. User licenses are valid for all client software applications, including the Cumulus Web Client, Cumulus Scheduler, and most third-party clients. As of Cumulus 8.0, there is no longer any difference between licenses or software clients for the various Cumulus Editions. There is no limit to the number of user accounts that can be created for any Cumulus Edition, but Cumulus Entry and Cumulus Workgroup are limited to 25 concurrent user connections.

Cumulus Add-ons
Add-on products help ensure you get a system thats ideally suited for your needs. As of Cumulus 8.0, add-on products are sold using network licenses, meaning they cost the same no matter how many user licenses a Server has. The table below lists each add-on and includes information about which Cumulus edition the feature is available for, or included with. Other Cumulus add-ons are available from third parties. Cumulus Add-ons
Cumulus Edition SKU Name Description EY Enables users to work with local catalogs or catalogs hosted by a Cumulus Server. Metadata and asset updates can be copied in either direction. When connected to a Cumulus Server, the Cross Client takes up one user license. Note: The Cross Client is sold only as an add-on to a Cumulus Server, and each Cross Client license is registered to a single computer. Enables Cumulus account holders to access Cumulus via Web browsers for secure asset uploads, downloads and complete metadata editing. Each user connection uses one user license. Connected users can access any Cumulus catalogs and cataloged assets to which they have been granted accessall permissions configured on the Cumulus Server are honored. High-impact features in the Cumulus Web Client include: Cumulus-direct URL technology, which enables Cumulus to serve thumbnails, previews and assets from anywhere a URL can be embedded. Collection links, which are Cumulus collections that optionally include passwords and expirations. Cumulus Sites enables Cumulus account holders and guests to access Cumulus via Web browsers for asset downloads, uploads and basic metadata editing. Connected users can access any Cumulus catalogs and cataloged assets to which they have been granted accessall permissions configured on the Cumulus Server are honored. High-impact features in Cumulus Sites include: Cumulus-direct URL technology, which enables Cumulus to serve thumbnails, previews and assets from anywhere a URL can be embedded. Collection links, which are Cumulus collections that optionally include passwords and expirations. Multiple collection baskets can be configured and saved for each user. License-free unlimited read-only connections Roles are groups that share permissions. When a user is added to the group, that user inherits the groups permissions. Administrators save time by making permissions changes to the role, which affects all assigned users at once. Offers offers real-time, rules-based permissions that can change based on dynamic circumstances such as workflow approvals, embargo dates or other factors. Individual record/category permissions enable users to determine who sees what on a per-asset record and per-category level. Field-specific permissions can restrict the editing of certain fields to only chosen individuals or roles. Includes: Live Filtering Individual Record/Category Permissions Permission to Edit Field Values Enables users to create as many custom category tabs as they need, and to search within all category metadata to find certain categories. Combined, these capabilities make categories suitable for project management in addition to their typical use. Includes: Search Category Metadata Reduce Category Tree to found Categories Only Create Custom Master Categories Enables Cumulus to mirror catalog metadata to Oracle databases. The metadata can be queried from within Oracle, and because the metadata is stored in an Oracle system (in addition to Cumulus), corporate compliance requirements that mandate the use of Oracle are met. Enables Cumulus to parse certain file types (InDesign, PowerPoint, etc.) and automatically catalog any referenced assets used in the files. So, for example, when an InDesign layout is cataloged, all images, text and illustrations it references are also cataloged and linked to the master file. WG EP

Extended LDAP support offers access to all LDAP fields from within Cumulus, and enables Cumulus administrators to map Cumulus user accounts and roles to LDAP accounts and groups, avoiding the need to manage user accounts on two systems. Cumulus Video Suite extends the built-in video-handling capabilities Cumulus offers, by making it possible to split video content into per-scene assets records, each with their own metadata sets. Note: Video can be split into scenes automatically only when using the Native Client for Windows. Scenes can be split manually via the Mac and Windows Native Clients. Enables Cumulus to automatically catalog email and assets from a mail server. Users attach assets to email they send to a central email account. Customers without a current maintenance agreement wishing to upgrade to Cumulus 8.5 are entitled to a discount on the Suggested Retail Price of Cumulus 8.5. The discount depends on the time elapsed since the expiration of the maintenance agreement: Maintenance agreement expired not more than one year before the purchase date Customer receives a discount of 50% of the License Value of the expired maintenance agreement, but not more than 50% of the License Value of the Cumulus 8.5 version purchased. Maintenance agreement expired more than one year, but not more than two years before the purchase date Customer receives a discount of 35% of the License Value of the expired maintenance agreement, but not more than 35% of the License Value of the Cumulus 8.5 version purchased. Other customers without a current maintenance agreement Customer receives a discount of 5% of the purchase price of the Cumulus 8.5 version purchased.

Sidegrades
Cumulus Entry/Workgroup Customers with a current maintenance agreement wishing to sidegrade to Cumulus Enterprise are entitled to a discount on the Suggested Retail Price of Cumulus 8.5 Enterprise, if there is no reduction of the number of client licenses. Cumulus Enterprise Development License
