WHEAT SEEDS
I have watched many relationships die. Friendships, marriages, siblings, and more too many of them are killed by selfishness. Here are three ways that selfishness kills relationships. First, relationships are stabbed when one or both or all parties to the union allow ego to get in the way and insist they are right. There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end, it leads to death (Proverbs 14:12). Second, relationships are bludgeoned when those who are right persist in their refusal to listen to anyone else. The very imperfect nature of humanity demands that we each accept the possibility of error, and that we be willing to hear and accept the opinions, instructions and feelings of others in the relationship. The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice (Proverbs 12:15). Third, relationships are strangled when those who think they are right maintain their inflexibility and refuse to change their own behavior. A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it (Proverbs 22:3). Let us be humble. Let us listen to others. Let us be willing make changes. Relationships are too valuable to let selfishness murder them without a fight! Bobby Wheat

DALES NOTES
Forget what hurt you in the past, but never forget what it taught you. Memory is a strange thing! Its good in the fact that it helps us remember good times, people, places, and things. Those are memories that help us enjoy life. Those are memories that keep friendships going. We remember times that we succeeded in an effort. Those are memories we cherish. Its a strange thing because it also has its down side. We remember bad times, things, and people. We remember times that we completely dropped the ball and let someone, even ourselves, down. We remember times that others let us down. Those are memories that hinder us. God gave us memory. Heres what I think is one reason. He gave us memory to learn. Face it, there will be times that we drop the ball, that we sin. We as human beings tend to remember those times and beat ourselves up about them. What I believe God wants us to do is this: realize weve sinned, own it, repent of it, learn from it, and move on. Satan wants us to keep remembering our times of failure. Satan wants it to drag us down and keep us from doing good. Thats not what God wants. He wants us to learn from it, and then continue down the path he has for us. Remember. Remember to let go and move on. Dale

EARNESTLY SPEAKING
Paul encourages Timothy who Paul claims as his own son in the faith (1 Tim. 1:12) to do the work of an evangelist (2 Tim. 4:5). An evangelist is a preacher; he is one who declares the gospel. A gospel preacher must 1. Be an EXAMPLE. He is to be an example to and of the believers (1 Tim. 4:12). He is to be an example in word, in manner of life, in love, in spirit, in faith and in purity. He is to practice what he preaches. 2. Be a STUDENT. He is to be a student of the word of God (1 Tim. 4:13). He is to pay attention to reading, to exhortation, and to doctrine. He is to give careful thought to what he learns to give himself wholly to that which he learns (1 Tim. 4:15). 3. Be VIGILANT. He is to take heed unto himself and unto the doctrine which he preaches (1 Tim 4:16). His soul and the souls of those who hear him preach are at stake. The work of an evangelist is serious business. May God help those of us who preach to make full proof of our ministry (2 Tim. 4:5) and to be a good minister of Jesus Christ (1 Tim. 4:6). Ernie Christie
