Ministering Locally
One of our roles as staff is to try to tell the stories of FCC at work. In many areas this is simple, but when it comes to our outreach to the needy it is difficult. How do you tell our people that there is a lot of effective ministry going on without embarrassing those who receive? Yes more FCCers would know what is happening if we put photos up of people taking clothing or eating at a community meal, but that would make the people we are helping feel like objects. So, I guess you will either need to become personally involved or take our word for it: more local ministry is taking place than has ever happened in FCCs 25 year history. There is strong community support and informal partnerships with other churches who are helping by supplying the clothing pantry. Join us in thanking God for people who care for others, partners both in and alongside FCC.

Pentecost Offering for World Missions

Sunday May 19th is our annual Pentecost Offering that we dedicate to a particular missions project(s) for that year. This time around there are two areas where we are focusing: (1) We would like to raise funds toward a vehicle for our missionaries working in Mexico City (Gabo & Emily). They are expecting their first child and this would enable them to reduce some of the travel time to ministry sites (usually it takes them 1-2 hours by bus each way).

(2) Our second area is to partner with One Mission Society in raising funds for pastoral training in the Caribbean (a certain communist island), and for some ministry work in Costa Rica. Pastor Randy will be part of a group driving vehicles from the USA down the PanAmerican Highway to Costa Rica where they will be sold and the profits given to the project. While in Costa Rica he and Tammy (she will join him there) will do some work at a camp, visit with our missionaries, and do early logistics for FCCs 2014 mission trip to Costa Rica. Ask the Lord how He would have you participate in prayer and finances. God is using FCC to be a blessing both here at home and abroad.
