VISA STEPS for THE Netherlands 1. Choose a study course and apply online (studielink) in most of the cases.

Studielink: I. Download the Studielink instructions (see document on this page) II. Go to Studielink III. Apply for a Studielink user name and password IV. Create your personal Studielink account V. Then enter the details of your previous education VI. Submit an enrolment request using the Request enrolment button

The application will be forwarded to the respective institution directly from studielink portal. 2. Submission of required documents After the assessment of your online application, the institution will ask you to submit the attested copies of the required documents (Detailed CV, Motivation Letter, Academic documents, IELTS copy, 4 passport size pics, experience letter if any or any other document that the institution requires) 3. Acceptance to the course The applicant will be informed once the admission committee assesses his documents and online application and may ask to submit an additional document or ask for an interview (depending upon the nature of the course applied or if they are not satisfied) 4. Payment of the fee and confirmation of admission The university will inform about their decision and send the offer letter with the tuition fee and other detail to the student, after the payment of tuition package fee ( Visa fee =600 Euros or any other costs included in the fee package such as accommodation or insurance) the institution will notify about the confirmation of admission. 5. Applying for the MVV + VVR The institution will apply for your MVV (entry visa) directly to embassy, and will send you an email that your application has been forwarded. Your V number (or reference number) will be mentioned on it. Sometimes, you will also be notified by the university what kind of visa should you request them such C+D visa that allows a student to travel within the European Union for a period of 90 days. 6. Getting the visa Once you are informed by the institution that your visa application has been sent to the embassy, you should keep checking with the embassy about the arrival of your

visa. They will give you the time and date to bring your passport and get the visa sticker. You should also check if they need an additional document. 7. Applying for residence permit You need a VVR when you arrive in the Netherlands, the institution will apply for your VVR (residence permit). You will be informed to pick up your card by the institution international desk or at your nearest IND office. 8. Registering at the city counsel A student would needs to register with the city council where he will stay, and they will tell you to get a TB test. 9. Getting a T.B test You must get a TB test and its report would be sent directly to the IND concerned department. Details of the important documents Details of the bank statement required for the MVV
The bank statements should include the following details: A bank statment of 9,600/ annum is required to get a MVV as well as for the rnewal of the MVV every year. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. the name, address and telephone number of the bank. If this statement is not on the official letterhead of the bank the statment should include an official stamp and signature; the name of the account holder the account number the currency if the bank statement is not in your name, the owner of the bank statement must sign a financial guarantee and provide a copy of his/her passport (see attachment) Few insituitons require that the bak statment may not be older than 2 months, others require for not older than 3. Details of the bank statement would be informed by the insituion. Birth Certificate

A student must also bring the original Birth certificate legalized by the Dutch embassy when going to The Netherlands, it is not needed at the embassy but when registering at the city council.

IMPORTANT: It is to keep in mind that because it is the responsibility of the institution to access

the applicants eligibility and the financial resources, the requirements may differ from institution to institution, however the basic criteria would be the same. A few institutions may ask to send the original document before making a final decision on the admission. So please check with the institution for the complete requirement.
