Human memory is an important awareness relating to how individuals develop memory and understand memory.

Scholars and professors are persistently concerned with the neuroanatomical neural developments linked to education and the modern literature. Not to mention, the connection between learning and memory form useful viewpoints. Researchers converse the motives of how learning and memory are interdependent, and have implemented testing over case studies with animal studies since they are most suitable within studies for understanding the learning-to-memory-link. The examples from studies help researchers with solve the unknown of the memory processes. Scholars discuss the significance of lifelong learning and mind stimulus to long life and value of life to obtain knowledge and how the human individual progresses their abilities to gain memory and how memory can have emotional impact upon human behaviors. To understand the functional relationship between learning and memory one must first define what both learning and memory is. Learning is described as the acquisition of knowledge or skills through experience, practice, or study, or by being taught (Merriam-Webster, 2011). While Memory is the means by which we draw on our past experiences in order to use this information in the present (Sternberg, 1999). So, as one can tell memory is important to all of our lives. Without a memory of history, one cannot function in the present-day or meditate on the future.one would not be able to reminisce what they did yesterday, what they have done currently or what they plan to do tomorrow. Without memory, one could not learn anything. Try to imagine a lifetime without memories. No one would have an identity. Individuals would constantly ask the same questions repeatedly over since no one would be able to recollect the answers to them. One would live continually in the present-day moment and have no recollection of our pasts, including individuals and involvements that are significant to us, and no expectation of the future. While memory is critical for all of us, there is no time in which memory strains are greater than the school years. The school atmosphere, nevertheless, is not regularly a "memory-friendly" one. Children are given tons of new information throughout the school year, and given small opportunity to combine new information. While, more new information is presented to them. Similar to the relationship between remembering and learning exists; there is a relationship between remembering and understanding as well. When one comprehends something, they are often able to remember it better. Understanding allows us to know where to stock the information in long-term memory, and effective storage is more expected to lead to effective recovery. If one is able to recover previously learned information from long-term memory when they are presented with new to-be-learned information, they can make links between the two and, thus they will understand the new information better. In this way, memory helps understanding. If one thinks of the long-term memory in their minds as a network of connections, then what they are doing is making new relations between what they already know and what they are trying to learn. The network is simplified, and it is easier to store and retrieve information.
