Thursday was a day dedicated to service. The penguins hosted a service event, dedicated to provide meals for the homeless. With the help of nine greek organizations, we made over 400 PB&J sandwiches and donated them to St. Jude Catholic Worker House. We were all able to pack over 400 sandwiches and crackers. This was a rewarding experience; not only were meals that included PB&J

KDChi has helped me grow because it made me realize that I am not alone. That I have people here for me and that I shouldn't feel like a burden to them. I have learned to be more open with my sisters and ask for their assistance when needed. Whenever one of my sisters goes to the store I always ask what day they decide to go so that I can tag along.
Our last Sister of the Month award for the semester was given to our New Member Educator, Jennifer Martinez. Her enthusiasm and dedication was recognized as she served as the main guide for the Gamma Class new members. This time, we all made it out to Olive Garden to celebrate her contributions to our sisterhood.

Definitely working with groups and taking more initiative. With KDChi, we have rules make our use of time more efficient: constant contact, late fees, utilizing email/text, etc. Now when we meet in person, we take a step beyond brainstorming. As our spring semester comes to a close, the time to say our farewells to our graduating seniors. Four of our fellow Charter sisters are graduating this May, one from the graduate level, Isamar Hernandez, and three from the undergraduate level, Paola Bribiesca, Xochitl Carmona, & Jennifer Topete. In addition, one sister from our Alpha Class is graduating from the undergraduate level, Amanda Rodriguez. These women are all caring sisters and have dedicated their time, effort and professionalism to this chapter. It saddens us that they will no longer be active sisters on our campus, but we are also proud to see them succeed and receive their degrees. We can only expect great things from these women and wish them the best in their future endeavors. We know this is not a goodbye because we are sisters for life. Here are a few words by some of the graduates: "As my journey on campus comes to an end, I graduate as, not only a certified teacher, but a charter sister of Kappa Delta Chi. As I take the next step in my life, I leave with a sense of achievement knowing that I took part in planting what is now a strong sisterhood; a the sisterhood that will continue to blossom at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign." -Paola Bribiesca "Being a part of KDChi has been such a valuable experience for me. I was able to bring this wonderful organization to our campus with the help of my Charter class sisters and it has been a great accomplishment. I am proud to see how much we have grown as an organization in such little time. The fact that I have to graduate makes me sad because I will not be able to participate contribute to all the hard work we accomplish as a team, but I know that I will forever be a sister of KDChi and I can continue serving the community along with the rest of the alumnae." -Xochitl Carmona

"As a Charter Sister and current President of the Beta Alpha chapter, I have learned to take responsibility for my own learning and growth, while knowing when to ask for help from my sisters. Programming and working with others to manage an organization takes a lot of hard work, but KDChi has helped me develop professionalism skills that I can take into the corporate world in my future.
