This social studies lesson focuses on producers, what goods they make and sell, what services they provide to consumers, as well as the relationship between supply and demand in a free enterprise system. This lesson uses the 3rd Grade Houghton Mifflin Social Studies Textbook Communities (p. 286291). Students will learn what resources are necessary to making blue jeans and the process that is required for the production. This lesson uses the 3rd Grade Houghton Mifflin Social Studies textbook Communities (p. 292-297.)

This social studies lesson will consist of students rotating between four different centers in order to review for the Unit 5 Test. This lesson uses the 3rd Grade Houghton Mifflin Social Studies Textbook Communities (p. 260311). This social studies lesson consists of a review and assessment of Unit 5. This lesson uses the 3rd Grade Houghton Mifflin Social Studies Textbook Communities (p. 260311). Students will be given a category such as: food, beverages, beauty salon, and physical activities. Students will then gather together with like-categories and decide what each student will bring for the Farmers Market.
