Hadassah McGill Professor Camargo English 2100 25 April 2013 Lights! Camera! Drink! I have decided to take on the role of the director as I modernize and totally recreate Act II. Scene 2, Another part of the wood from William Shakespeares Drama, A Midsummer Nights Dream. This is the scene where the flower love potion defines who one will love. I want the scene to be an example of the crazy Hollywood lifestyle. Putting a hip, modern spin on things, my characters are all well-known celebrities. My characters include: Mariah CareyTitania, Nick Cannon- Oberon, Usher-Puck (Robin), Jay Z-Lysander, Beyonce- Hermia, Chris Brown- Demitrius, Rihanna- Helena. I will call it: Another part of the club and the setting will take place in an exclusive VIP room in the back of the most expensive club in Hollywood, as opposed to an enchanted forest. There are disco balls and strobe lights all around. The club is big on selling champagne or bubbly. The celebrities in the VIP room of the club get there beverages hand delivered to them and most of the time, it is delivered in a special glass, depending on the occasion. The club has a mystical feature about it in that every night when the clock strikes midnight the workers turn into some performers. Every word uttered is performed through song, or at least through song lyrics and they dance to perfection. The Queen, Mariah Carey, has just ordered her last bottle of wine before and has asked the VIP workers to dance and surround her until she has drifted underneath the stars. Her husband, King Nick Cannon, has ordered his dear companion and devout servant, Usher, to send Queen Mariah her last drink in one of the special glasses. This glass is special because it carries the love-in-idleness potion and holds the power to immediately make someone fall madly in love with the first people they lay eyes on after the last drop has been swallowed. Nick wants to distract Mariah, only for a moment, so that can retrieve the gift she has hidden from him. Meanwhile, in another part of the club, two well-known R&B artists, Jay Z and Beyonce

decided to run away to get a private room so that they could make love in the club. Jay Z and Beyonce are madly in love, but Chris Brown has had a crush on Beyonce since he first laid eyes on her. This doesnt stop him. Upon hearing from Rihanna of their plans to run away and get a private room, Chris goes off in search of her. Rihanna, madly in love with Chris, only told him knowing how he felt about Beyonce and that he would go after her. She followed him in an attempt for the paparazzi to see them together and take pictures. She had secretly hoped and wanted to prove to him that she was the one he loved. She sung to him, you are the one that I dream about all day, you are the one. And due to their past relations she expressed to him (trying to appear a little more confident), dont slip, dont slip, cuz another might push up on it. But Chris Brown shunned and ignored her telling her, I aint thinkin bout you tonight. As Nick and Usher stand in idleness attempting to plot and plan how they will seduce Mariah, they see two R&B singers, both with plenty of tattoos and flashy expensive clothing. The male, Chris Brown, seems to be ignoring the female, Rihanna, and searching for another throughout the VIP section. In the club it is appropriate to send someone a bottle of alcohol as a means of gratitude, appreciation, or celebration. Nick orders Usher to send one of those special glasses to the male dressed in flashy clothing with lots of tattoos in order to make the man fall in love with the love crazed woman, while he handles Mariah. Usher, knowing not which flashy and expensively dressed man to send the glass of champagne sees Jay Z and Beyonce sitting apart from each other for one moment and thinks it is this man. Jay Z graciously takes the champagne and after the last drop he is face to face with Rihanna, one of his signed artists. He asks her to show me what you got and she is confused and insulted knowing his love for Beyonce. She thinks it is some kind of sick joke. He expresses to her that he no longer feels the way her did about Beyonce but instead her. Beyonce turns around after signing autographs and sees that her man Jay has disappeared and is nowhere to be found.
