Dear Mohamed Rafi Thanks for replying. I am a MBA in marketing and minor finance with 3 years of experience in pharma sector and 6 months in banking i have opted for SD and will be doing the course from siemens delhi. Some one told me that SD and SCM are one and the same thing so wanted to make sure that it is a fact because i wanted to study the basics before the course starts

Hi SCM - Supply Chain Management covers all areas Of Supply Chain eg, SD , MM , PP ...Hence all these modules together are known as SCM.There is no separate SAP Offering for SCM unlike SRM or CRM.Hence , take a call if u are suited more to SD , MM or PP depending on your domain experience.Cheers!!

Hey all, SAP scm(supply chain management order fulfillment ) is know as SD in short is the same .....scm also has procurement tht is MM.

BUT i would like to give u suggestion that instead of going for sd its better if u go MM cause its having bigger demand in the market ..with good range of salary and is the main backbine of sap. Sufiyan Chikhalia SAP MM & SD Consultant

Dear Kash kap, I think so the days of one module is fast becoming scarce. You have to choose the combination: MM & SCM-SD SCM-SD & BW SCM-SD & IS Retail SCM-SD & WM With best wishes C.Viswanath

Hi, The module SD is not the same as its called SCM now. If you are going for certification then now you cannot find anything specific as SD certification. You can find SCM on sap website. you can try to check TSCM60, TSCM62.

If you understand SAP at the simplest level, there is no confusion between SCM and SD.
