Daily Itinerary
DAY 1 AND 2 - USA TO THE HOLY LAND Your pilgrimage begins as you depart the USA on an overnight flight. You will be welcomed to the Holy Land by our airport representative and transfer to your hotel where you will enjoy dinner before resting. DAY 3 - THE GALILEE This morning, pray and sing hymns as you cross the waters of the Sea of Galilee by boat. Next, travel to Capernaum, the center of Jesus ministry. Visit the synagogue on the site where Jesus taught (Matt.4:13, 23). At the Mount of Beatitudes read the sermon on the mount (Matt. 5-7). Visit the Church of the Fish and the Loaves, at Tabgha, the traditional location for the feeding of the 5000 (Luke 9:10-17). Visit the Chapel of the Primacy where Peter professed his devotion to the risen Christ (John 21). End your day remembering Jesus Baptism at the Jordan River. DAY 4 - NAZARETH, MEGIDDO & CAESAREA Visit the Franciscan Wedding church in Cana, where you recall Jesus first miracle, the changing of water to wine (John 2). Visit Nazareth, Jesus boyhood home (Matthew 2: 23). Overlook Tel Megiddo (Armegeddon). End your day at Caesarea, a center of the early Christians. Here, an angel visited Cornelius, the first Gentile convert; (Acts 10) and Paul was imprisoned for 2 years (Acts 23: 22). DAY 5 - JERICHO, QUMRAN & MT. OF OLIVES Travel to Jericho and visit the ruins of the Worlds Oldest City. From this city, once conquered by Joshua, (Josh. 6: 1, 2, 20) you can see the traditional site of the Temptation of Jesus (Matt. 4: 1-11). Travel to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in 1947. End your day with a group picture taken atop the Mount of Olives. Here Jesus ascended into heaven (Acts 1: 9-12). DAY 6 - JERUSALEM & BETHLEHEM Visit Bethlehem, where the cave revered as Jesus birthplace resides in the worlds oldest functioning church (Matt. 1: 18-25). Nearby youll view Shepherds Field where the Good News was first heard. Return to Jerusalem where you will pray in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matt. 26: 36-44). Continue to Mount Zion to visit the House of the High Priest Caiaphas where Jesus was questioned (Matt. 26: 5765). Finally, the Last Supper comes to life as you visit the Upper Room (Mark 14: 12-26). DAY 7 - JERUSALEM & THE OLD CITY Take time to pray at the Western Wall. Sit on the Teaching Steps where Jesus once taught. Walk the Cardo, the main street of the Old City. View the Pool of Bethesda where Jesus performed the Sabbath miracle (John 5: 1-31). Sing a hymn in the Church of St. Anne, known for its amazing acoustics. Visit Herods Antonia Fortress where Jesus was brought before Pontius Pilate (Luke 23: 1-11). Walk the Via Dolorosa, the Way of the Cross, and stand in reverence at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. DAY 8 - LEISURE DAY (MASADA/DEAD SEA OPTION) Explore on-your-own or visit Masada and the Dead Sea (additional charge). Masada was Herods mountaintop fortress and the last stronghold of the Jewish Rebellion against the Romans. It was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2001. End your day with a quick dip in the salt and mineral-laden waters of the Dead Sea. DAY 9 - JERUSALEM Travel to Ein Karem, known as the birthplace of John the Baptist and the place where the Virgin Mary visited Elisabeth (Luke 1: 26-40). Visit Yad Vashem, Israels Holocaust Memorial. Your final destination allows time for reflection at the Garden Tomb. RELEASE INFORMATION Payment of deposit indicates permission for EOT or its agents to record the registrants participation and appearance on video tape, audio tape, film, photograph, or any other medium and to use the registrants name, likeness, voice, comments, submitted documentation, written papers, and/or biographical material without restrictions or limitation for any advertising, marketing, publicity, educational or promotional purpose which EOT or its agents deem appropriate, unless the registrant or guardian otherwise notifies EOT in writing prior to departure. Except where otherwise stated, EOT acts only as agent for the relevant supplier in securing hotels, transportation and other travel services and in no event shall EOT be liable for failure by any such supplier to render any transportation, lodging or other travel service to be provided on the tour.
