6. Ask questions listed in the margins of the TE as an ongoing check for understanding. Focus on these questions about family: (TE 26) What they know about families? (TE 26) What do people in families do to help one another?

7. CLOSURE: Discuss the Lesson Review Activity in the Review and Assess section of TE 29. F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? Complete a Lesson Review Activity (p.29) Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. Students must draw a clearly labeled picture of their family. All family members are represented and named. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think this would be a very fun and easy lesson to teach because students enjoy sharing about their families and themselves.

2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach?

I think this lesson is very straight forward. I think most students will relate easily. However, there are the students who are in foster care or those who dont know their families. This could make them feel uncomfortable.

3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson?

As an extension to the lesson, I would us Extend Lesson 1 (p.30-31)

4. What can you do for students who dont grasp the concepts?
For the students who dont grasp the concepts in this lesson, I would use the Reteach Mini Lesson described at the bottom of TE 29. We would work together on a two column chart that shows how families help and how they teach.

5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change?
I believe that the procedure would probably need some adjusting because like any recipe we use our own touch to perfect it or make it our own.

6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part?
For me, the most difficult part was finding the correct standard. I believe they have been updated since this book was written and I couldnt find the one it listed.
