Fig 1: The Network diagram with project duration, Field; Keller (2007)

The project network diagram is a simple chart showing the order in which the data terminal project or activity. According to Burke (2003 P.131) the network diagram proposed project activity network in the order of the distribution plan. In addition, a network diagram schematic representations of the program projects as a single sequence of activities and associations and events necessary for the final destination project achieve performances (James M. et al. 1990.P. 10). 1.2 The timing activity of the total floats: The timing of activities can be done by using the precedence network which has a greater variety of links to draw an activity-on-node diagram. Forward pass is made to calculate the earliest start and earliest finish which can be identify on the top corners of the network diagram. The latest start, latest finish times and the total float are at the bottom row of the network diagram. The timing of activities is determined by earliest finish times (EFT) and latest finish times (LFT). Earliest Finished Time (EFT) is always top right corner in the activities, such as A= ETS for A+4=4. The backward pass means Latest Start Time (LST) and Latest Finished Time (LFT) that the project duration. In addition, the total float is the time of activities can be delayed without causing a delay in the project. A float means estimated duration of the project. A Total Float (TF) = A Total float = LFT-EST-Duration (Field and Keller, 2007). So Total float are D=5 days E=2days, H=6days, I=7days, J=6 and also p=3days. 1.3 Determining project duration and critical path Successful project begins with good planning. To determine project duration, we must first develop project schedule and show the relationship among project activities. First, identify the work breakdown structure (WBS) on all the work that has to be completed. The next step is to draw up network diagrams to display activity relationships using Program Evaluation Review Technique (PERT) Charts. It serves as the basis for monitoring and controlling project activity and, taken together with the plan and budget, is probably the major tool for the management of project. The timing of the project duration is 50 days in order for Mangeist Ltd to complete the business activities to supply a range of building equipments. The critical path is established by the longest time span through the total system of events. The critical path is composed of events ABCFGKLMNOQR as shown in Figure 1 above.
