personal learning experience which AIESEC can offer you. This Booklet is supposed to help you in your orientation phase. As it is a great experience but for the same reason the organization appears a bit complex at first. This document has the purpose of reducing this complexity.

AIESEC WAY
Our Name
AIESEC: Formerly an French acronym for "Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales". Today, we no longer use this acronym as our membership has grown to encompass a much wider range of disciplines than only economics and commerce, and our Role in society and the Core Work we do are reflected more accurately below.

What Is AIESEC
AIESEC is a global, non-political, independent, not-forprofit organization run by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education. Its members are interested in world issues, leadership and management. AIESEC does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, creed, and religion, national, ethnic or social origin.

EXCHANGE PROCESS

PROJECTS
Through its activities and members, AIESEC aims to have a positive impact in society. We are always trying to improve ourselves and the environment we live in by constant assessment, finding problems and coming up with solutions in order to solve them. After a detailed research applied in the local environment, AIESEC identified 3 main issues that need attention and decided to focus on developing them. These issues are: Education, Entrepreneurship and Technology (IT & Software) *for additional information on our projects, please check the Project Guide

GROW GROW represents a long term, non-formal educational engagement designed to improve the quality of education in Romania. It is a program organized in partnership with AIESEC that addresses high school students in Romania (age 14-18). Through the GROW program, they can follow a complementary four-year educational cycle. The program offers high school students a professionally designed educational curriculum that complements the formal education system. It has been developed with the support of an Educational Board, gathering personalities and top-notch experts in education and adolescent psychology, especially to address key needs of the development of teenage participants. The main goal of this program is to build a constructive attitude for a sustainable change in the Romanian educational system. GROW aims to be the numberone national education program addressing high school students as it is unique among any other program:it is a long term program (2010-2015); it has the magnitude of a nationwide project; it has a specific approach for each high school level: 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders; the courses are delivered in English by international trainers; the courses were designed professionally by consultancy and adolescent psychology specialists.

AIESEC Academy

AIESEC Academy is a non-formal educational project which consists in a series of theoretical trainings and workshops (2-4 weeks) followed by a practical stage (4 weeks) through which students will have the opportunity to have access to an internship at one of the partner companies involved in the project as well as the outgoing internships offered by AIESEC, GIP and GCDP. The project is meant to represent the first step in their careers and to bring an extra value to all the stakeholders involved in the project (companies, trainers, participants, organising teams) and to actively involve a significant number of students and organizations likewise.

5 oclock T.I.E. (Thanking Involvement Event)


5 oclock tie is a Customer Care event organized with the purpose to thank our partners, to keep them informed about our activity in the current year, but also to attract new partners. Also, the event is of strategic importance, being an essential opportunity to prezent and sell new products and to prezent the new board, facilitating in this way the transition.

Start Me
Start Me is an educational program dedicated to 7th and 8th graders, with the purpose to open new horizons for them. The expected outcome is developing in them social responsibility , trust in own strenghs and actions and aknowledge own impact on a global level. This is possible by delivering sessions in english, with the help of young people from various countries, chosen by taking into cosideration their experience in this area. The role of international trainers is to offer pupils diverse perspectives, as well as the posibility to learn more about other cultures. The themes discussed are: cultural education, sustainability and polution, active citizenship. The project lasts for 5 weeks and the trainings are delivered during weekends.

Iashington
Iashington is an international conference that combines our passion for excellence and traditions so you can enjoy an experience you won`t forget for a long time! Iashington is about bringing together cultures and youngsters all around the world in one place. It`s about celebrating diversity and

tradition, it`s about you, the young and restless that wants to achieve greatness and puts passion in every step. If you`re looking for performance and self-development or you want to discover, learn or simply be inspired, Iashington is the conference for you!

RockME
RockME conference aims to provide qualitative preparation for the present and future Executive Boards of AIESEC Romania to ensure sustainable development of leadership throughout the country. Main Objectives: - The participants will understand the concept of leadership - The participants will be ready ti take positions of Middle and Top Management The conference is organized for 300 participants who are interested to occupy positions of leadership or they already occupy. They will receive training on functional areas as follows: human resources, sales, marketing and communications, finance, project management. For young people who have received international internships paid there will be special sessions that will make you realize the importance of experiences and how to use it in future benefits. International Internships Projects Global IT - it's a project through which we will provide international internships in foreign companies to students from the IT faculties. These internships have a duration between 3 and 18 months. The project will take place between November 2012 and February 2013 Global Management - it's a project through which we will provide international internships in foreign companies to students from Faculty of Economics and Business Administration in areas related to management (marketing, finance, business administration, human resources, sales, project management etc.). These internships have a duration between 3 and 18 months. The project will take place between January and May 2013 Global Tourism - it's a project through which we will provide international internships in hotels and restaurants abroad to students from the tourism and hospitality domain. These internships

have a duration between 3 and 18 months. The project will take place between February and May 2013 Global Citizen Program - it's a project through which we will provide international volunteering internships for any students, doesn't matter which year or faculty. These internships imply working in projects developed by AIESEC for different categories of people: students, highschool students, pupils, kindergarten children etc. The duration of these internships is between 6 and 8 weeks. The project will take place in three phases between January and July 2013 Global Engineering - it's a project through which we will provide international internships in foreign companies to students from the Technical University. These internships have a duration between 3 and 18 months. The project will take place between February and May 2013. Global Education - it's a project through which we will provide international internships in schools, universities, organizations to students that want to develop their training and teaching skills. These internships have a duration between 2 and 12 months. The project will take place between April - July 2013 and September - November 2013

About RTS
The Regional Training Seminar (RTS), is a conference organized for young people from the local committees of AIESEC Iai, Braov, Bucureti and Suceava, will take place at Bran during the period of 8-11th of November 2012. The conference will be organized for newly entered members, as well as for older members, from the local committees. The sessions will be organized in order to adequate optimally to the requirements derived from members' profile; new members will enjoy sessions during which interpersonal knowing will be facilitated (with both colleagues of the same generation and members), and the practical part of AIESEC activity will be explained (time management, the importance of proactivity). Aside from the intense work sessions, the recreative moments will be highly appreciated by the participants, who will have supplementary opportunities to know each other better in less strict circumstances like themed parties and games.
