Pre-debate Report The objective of the following report is to describe in detail the debate format through which the meeting shall be conducted and to present a brief overview of the rules and the actions that the members of the teams have decided upon. Debate format The debate format the lead team chose is similar to a council. Due to the delicate aspect of a family business, where not only professional but also personal feelings have to be taken into account, we believe that the best way to illustrate this case study is by a family council. Like other forms of debate, this one also focuses on the core elements of a controversial issue. It develops important skills and abilities, such as critical thinking, listening, argument construction, investigation, note-taking and advocacy skills. Rules It is important that we follow a set of rules in order that this board meeting is productive and that a final decision can be made peacefully. We expect everyone to adhere to the following rules and regulations. Please be polite to one another and do not interrupt the other teams. When you have comments or want to ask questions, raise your hands and you will be given the chance to express yourselves by the board members. Please express your ideas as clear as possible so that time is not wasted. Also, be precise with your explanation and questions.

Context of debate & Teams Each group has the task to make valuable suggestions for the future plans for the company either as a family member or as a consultant. You have the chance to present your development strategies and opportunity.

Each team is supposed to present their suggestions of their view on the company it should be a short 5 min max oral presentation involving the future suggested plans for the company. Please take in consideration the pros and cons of your suggested future plans. Make sure your points are clear and coherent, dont hesitate to show facts, figures and numbers which support your plans. Due to this being a family debate its reasonable that some feelings may be of best interest. However we do stress that we are here for the BUSINESS side of the company. The council consists of Marthe, Violeta, Gojko and Abdallah. It is our job to ensure to meeting stays productive and that a final outcome is reached. Timetable Set up room in a horseshoe shape with the council at the front with a clear view of all members. This ensures easy communication between us and between members of AAA Construction. Introduction of Council (2 minutes) Each group representing a member has 3 minutes to introduce their opinions and goals of what they wish to achieve by the end of the meeting (+/-10minutes) Debate commences (20 minutes) Council asks questions based on discussion (5 minutes) Agreement talks (10 minutes) Round up (5 minutes) Total council meeting time = 45 minutes
