Ministering to the Lord

Acts 13:2, "And while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said Ministering - li-toorg-eh'-o to be a public servant, that is, to perform religious or charitable functions (worship, obey, relieve): - minister. Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Joh 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; (pnuma alethia) whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. Joh 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Alethia truth- A true principle or belief, esp. one of fundamental importance. Truth: "irrefutable, objective verity". World - kos'-mos orderly arrangement, that is, decoration; how the world operates References to the outpouring or baptism of Holy Spirit in the Gospel are future tense, something that will happen after. Acts talks about something happening written on location. The Epistles look back to something that has happened. The gospels and Epistles are devoid of descriptions what Baptism in Holy Spirit actually is. The Gospels are concerned about when it will happen, the Epistles why it happened; Acts tells us how it happened. Without Acts we just would not know what baptism in Holy Spirit is. The foresight in the Gospels, hindsight in the Epistles is no substitute for insight in Acts. Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Comforter paracletos- An intercessor, consoler: - advocate, comforter.

2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Eph. 4:4-6, "There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all." Rom. 8:9, "However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him." Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: (weakness) Matt. 4:1, "Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness 1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.(Bathos mystery depths) 1Co 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 1Co 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know (perceive, experience) the things that are freely given to us of God. 1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know (perceive understand experience) them, because they are spiritually discerned. (distinguished determined) Natural meaning no Holy Ghost influence

Foolishness - mo-ree'-ah silliness, that is, absurdity: ridiculous, irrational, illogical, Spiritually non-physically, that is, divinely, ethereal or heavenly Psa_9:10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. Amo_5:6 Seek the LORD, and ye shall live Luk_11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Heb_11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
