Mother's Day Scriptures

Most of us only have one mother, whether by birth, adoption or selection. The amount of jobs that a typical mother completes within the household is around eight different ones. And she will probably never get the around sixty-thousand dollars worth of pay that she should receive. The reason that she does such work for her children or husband is usually because of love. That is admirable. Today hug your mom and tell her that you love her both in word or deed. Here are some Scripture verses that may bless you and her. Please take time to read them and allow them to take root in your heart and life. That way God will bless and increase you.

A picture of an ideal mom. Many mothers show these same exact personal traits. Moms are precious and priceless [not meaning worthless, but beyond much worth or of a very great value]. Proverbs 31:10-30 "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeks wool, and flax, and works willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she brings her food from afar. She rises also while it is yet night, and gives meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considers a field, and buys it: with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. She girds her loins with strength, and strengthens her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good: her candle goes not out by night. She lays her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretches out her hand to the poor; yes, she reaches forth her hands to the needy. She's not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

She makes herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. She makes fine linen, and sells it; and delivers girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looks well to the ways of her household, and eats not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up , and call her blessed ; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but you excel them all. Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised." We should never curse, abuse or dishonor neither our father nor mother no matter the circumstance. Matthew 15:4 "For God commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death." Many people want to know the secret to long life, health, wealth and success; here it is. Deuteronomy 5:16 "Honor thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God has commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged , and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God gives thee." We are to obey our parents along as it's within the Lord's law or way. God, family and friends must be the chain of command in our lives. Not self first; lest we perish with the unbelievers. Ephesians 6:1-3 "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honor thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with you, and you may [or might; conditional to obedience] live long on the earth."

Sometimes God commands us to leave our families but whatever He takes away He replaces with something greater. Often though, someone in our family is the source of strength or affliction with our walk with God. Mark 10:29-30 "And Jesus answered and said , Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's. But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life." As parents, and usually the mother teaches the son or daughter primarily, we told by the Lord to give Godly instruction to our children. Though at times they may disobey the teachings [yet they are imprinted upon their hearts and minds], we are to tell and show

them the right way to live and leave the results with the Lord. Proverbs 1:8-9; 22:6 "My son [or daughter], hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old , he will not depart from it."

Most people are not willing to serve God [the Father of every good and perfect thing] with their best, or respect and love their fellow person. Mark 12:29-30 "And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear , O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment." If we give God our first and best effort along with respecting our parents, nothing that opposes us will be able to overcome us in the end. Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Have a blessed day in the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the day that the Lord has made will we rejoice and delight ourselves in it. As there will never be another day exactly like this one. You and all who occupy it are unique creations that were made to worship the Creator who is blessed [and blesses all] forever and forever. I request of the Lord that He delivers peace and prosperity to all who read and believe this study, in the name of Jesus let this be true.
