HANDING OVER CEREMONY ACCEPTANCE SPEECH DELIVERED ON 31ST MARCH, 2012 THE CHAIRPERSON, THE VICE DEAN, THE

DIRECTOR, MEMBERS,- ALL FROM THE OFFICE OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS, THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION, THE OUT-GOING EXECUTIVES, THE NEW EXECUTIVES, FELLOW STUDENTS, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. It is with great humility and great sense of duty that we accept the privilege and the responsibility of leading the International student Union of University of Electronics Science and Technology of China (UESTC) for the period of 2012/2013 academic year. We will endeavour to justify every day in every act the trust you have placed in us. Leadership is an awesome responsibility, so let me begin by personally thanking my predecessor Nii and his able executives. My able predecessor, Nii and his group for a year and over have borne the burden of leading the International student Union. And let us not forget their immense contribution in the unification of this multi-cultural student society like ours. On behalf of the new executives I like to say a big thank you to all, may God/(Allah)/shangdi almighty bless you all. This day as we begin our tenure of office as new executives with great focus to meet the new challenges ahead; we will endeavour to continue where the old executives ended by building trust through the involvement of everybody in our quest to make our lives here in UESTC a happy and a dynamic one. It is our conviction that each of us will have a sense of responsibility towards each other, and with the conviction that when the strong help the weak, it makes us all strong. It must be noted that with a united front; we can stand on a common ground to share the values of this great nation and in accordance with UESTC motto of vision through perspiration, facts and truth achieve all our expectations. Let us as students affirm that in return for responsibility and accountability expected from us as executives; and we also demand responsibility from all. This will enable us to contribute towards the progress of the International Students Union. Bearing in mind the respect for the culture on which we build together. We all must encourage each other to play by the rules of this noble institution. We must always remember that although we have come from different continents, countries, races and religions; We are all one people. Mr/Madam Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen to end this acceptance speech, with a standing ovation; shall we all shout long live china, long live UESTC. Thank you.
